Hi I wish to make a few samples of a leather sheath. I have an existing sample and basically wanna replicate the design and cutting. Also involves the attachment of eyelets (for lacing) and metal studs on the exterior of the leather sheath itself. The sheath is being used as cover for a handle, you can think of it as a leather grip. Might also want to attach 2 D-ring attachments on the sheath for hanging purposes.

Does anyone know of any shop who can do such a sample provided I pass them a drawing or my existing sample?

Thanks

Wow, this thread is pretty interesting.

I've always been fairly interested in leather. Just out of curiosity, what kind of leather is best used for small items like key chains and wallets?

I know calf leather is the go to leather for dress shoes, but not too familiar with the other accessories.

Hi guys,

Golden Mile hawker centre used to have a leather/canvas shop that helps to do all kind of simple products belt, pouch, bag and etc. But the uncle is not operating there anymore. His shop used to be facing the CC.

Does anyone know where has he shifted to?

Or is there any shop that help to do cheap leather products?

Not looking for atas leathersmith.

Thanks.

Hi All,

Just a fellow leather enthusiast here.

I chanced upon Ivan Leathercraft and their products and realized that they have everything(almost) a leather enthusiast needs.

Most importantly, i'm very interested in their leather craft kits.

The leather craft kit is basically an "all in one" kit that contains all the materials needed to make the item.

It ranges from small keychains, wallets to purses and handbags.

All in Veg Tan leather.

So you can patina it yourself once you're done with the construction.

Do drop me a PM or reply if you're interested.

I'm looking to get some of their products but they do have an MOQ for international orders and the shipping fee might be quite hefty.

Ivan Leather is 'expensive'. For the same products, you get a better price on Taobao and Aliexpress. Taobao and Aliexpress have the package kit too. It's cheaper to just buy stuff that you need individually to make a kit. They don't have a moq. I have bought a few items from them via airmail before.

Most of Ivan Leather's stuff are from China. Same supplier as found on Taobao and Aliexpress.

https://sg.carousell.com/p/oos-mult...ss&ref_reqId=rCq55HEPHQg6OcJDgh76nNyYw4a8KThl

saw before an japanese article to diy own press with plywood but lost it.

looks like got to ssrr for a light duty arbor press with enough clearance to glue a chuck

for hammering, what do you guys use for a base? i see some use granite slab, some use rubber blocks, or hard plastic boards like HDPE (but may be prone to slip if not textured)

Looks like leather enthusiasts are growing. Just saw a kickstarter from Singapore (i assumed because the notes in the picture were Singapore notes) where someone is trying to make a leather card holder. Excited :s13:

It was called "Quickstarter - Quinn- Ultra Thin Minimalist Leather Wallet" if anyone wants to check it out.

Better to get the jacket fixed at a luxury bag servicing store - they might be able to
Help... think there’s one in Asia Square

They won’t care on the brand - call them before u go though :) cos I know once leather is torn it’s difficult - either stitch back together (can see stitches) or replace the panel with new leather piece - but this hard as almost impossible to get a new piece that matches your jacket
