IIRC, you can try contacting Tuckshop Sundry and Supplies' Atelier Lodge. They do offer lesson and sell basic leather crafting tools.

Personally, I find it better for seniors or seasoned craftsman to guide an amateur along as a something like this requires loads of practice as there are many tips and tricks not really covered in depth from online tutorials.

hi, i'll most likely take up your advice and visit atelier lodge soon. though kinda heart pain since 1 lesson is 150bucks. my initial plan of taking up leather works was to save on spending on quality leather goods. this might be the hardest hobby to start at the moment for me since well written information quite scarce or maybe im looking at the wrong place.

I have actually learnt a lot through youtube, you can try there.
Another forum would be leatherworker.net, multitude of beginners and professionals there. You can probably find whatever help you need there. Practice makes perfect is inherent in this hobby though, and the startup can be somewhat costly with the tools, materials and such.

That's very true. Startup is quite costly, but you have to look at it whereby this tools give you the ability to create many works and projects to come.

Moreover, most the time, it always starts with making just one item only for usage. Later on, it will blossom or turn into something made out of passion.

I go back take photo of my corter collection ba. Anyway didn't get any full sized wallet. Had a key ring, one saddle tan card wallet, natural tan coin purse and two copper bottle hooks.
Oh, no full sized wallets? you got the premium bag, right?

Yup, it's not guaranteed one. Anyway, here's all the stuff I have from corter to date.

Looks good! The dark brown wallet there, you purchased it separately?

Yup, that's my shell cordovan from corter bought some time last year. I think any more #8 shell cordovan from corter is becoming increasingly rare due to limited supply from Horween.

Found time to make another strap, this time for my Seiko. Leather is from Toby88 (thanks man!). 26mm tapering to 22mm, notched to fit 20mm lugs.

On a side note, the Tandy diamond pricking irons I posted earlier are still available for sale! :)

well, one lesson to make a wallet will probably take a day. $150 is cheap. what do they provide? tools and leather and wallet for you to keep? if that is so, then $150 is really cheap. i won't teach for anything less though.

But if it is a very simple wallet, then 150 might be abit too high price for it. But the best thing is that u can keep the tools and u can design ur own wallet and make a better one based on the exp u gain from the school.

I took a class there some time back for a wallet as well. That time it was S$110 thereabouts. It was about 4-5 hrs and worth it I would say as it helps you get started rather than trying to figure everything from scratch yourself.

You are provided the leather and you keep the item you make. Tools were not to keep, just to use during the workshop.
