Darn...its selling like hotcakes...my frd ask me to get 1 for him too...haiz...think by the time i go later,i will see empty selves.

Yeah, i have a few friends who are also waiting to get off work to rush to Taka and get the Vulcans, they'll be quite disappointed if all sold out.
Hopefully Taka re-stocks their shelves soon!

Worst thing that can happen is that the re-stock will only come after the discount.

I'd say get both! But if you had to choose just one, it'll depend on your usage.
The Nerf Maverick would be a good choice if you plan to play Nerf skirmish games with friends. This is because it is compatible with all Nerf foam darts, including Tagger darts (best to use tagger darts as they can positively stick to player's vests when playing nerf games). In addition, Mavericks don't jam or and get stuck because of the rotating barrel design, so you can keep firing constantly.
The Nerf Recon would be ideal if you like the idea of mixing and matching parts together to customise your blaster. The magazine fed system is very interesting in concept, though this mechanism also naturally results in higher chances of of jams if not operated properly (those of you who have done NS will recognise the same IA issues with real magazine fed armaments). The Recon can only use streamline darts too, so finding replacement darts can be a challenge.
Btw, spare magazines and streamline darts are not sold in singapore yet, so until then, you'll have to order them online or from overseas.
On the other hand, the Nerf Recon would be great for people who are looking to re-paint them for display or as movie prop replicas, its tactical rifle design is just perfect for such purposes!

nerfnerd: i really think it would be great to meet up and really just chill.
got some ideas of nerfwars. wonder if its feasable. but in gist, it would be more then just a skirmish free-for-all.
team objectives like:
capture-the-flag (two teams race for one particular item in the field and bring it back to base),
Assault (have a target at Team A's base. Team B will attept to bust it by shooting at it, while Team A has fortified defences like trenches, sniper towers, vulcan towers to stop team A's advance. To make it more challenging, maybe we can restrict the kind of gun that can hit the target. Say a short range gun so that the advancing team has to get really close, or probably some gun, i.e Titan, which only 2 out of the 6 members can carry.

but venue is an issue.
But i have seen town councils being laxed for areas for public uses. like gardens at neighbourhoods. we can maybe even set up a committee to man an area, allowable by town council to set up. but $ collected is solely to maintaine the site. so its non-commercial in nature.
