theres only one version that somehow seems to work pretty well. the data connection still drops but it picks up again much faster than even than stock. try r29. no scientific evidence that its true but the general experience is better imo
Then it's just placebo. I've used franco since I got the phone, and each version update ran equally bad/average/good depending on location. :(

Maybe you can use fedex / DHL / TNT to ship it to comgateway then ask them ship to Google/LG? or just use them to ship It to LG/Google instead. However, This COST money.

Ship it via registered postage and that will definitely cost you under $20. It's safe too as long as you have the valid rma address since there is a tracking number.

nope. i seriously dont think its placebo. its the only version so far that can load pages without going to H+. almost all other kernels die die wanna get connected to HSPA+ first before fetching data. with other kernels i have no other choice but to use wifi in my house. but this is the only one which i can actually have usable HSPA+ connection at home

well you can always use ems if cost is not an issue.

Ok. Thanks for the suggestions. So would it be a good idea to ask them ship directly to the RMA center?

Yes. Its the negotiation for hspa+ that is jamming up. Typically the connection would idle on HSDPA and r29 is somehow the only kernel that actually transmit data on HSDPA rather than waiting for HSPA+ before transmitting. The absolute speed might still be the same but the delay before a page actually loads after the data connection is dormant is smaller if the phone doesn't wait for HSPA+ and just transmit on HSDPA which it is already on.

actually i think it depends on your rom.

for aokp it doesnt show the + even though it is hsdpa+. Since i changed to xylon, it shows the +. U should try motley b12.. works very well for me and much cooler for phone when uv.

Carrier plays a part too. My experiences with starhub has been pretty ****ty all these while regardless of which phone I'm using. This is the first time I'm actually getting decent connection all the way on my commute to and from school. Like I said, I don't have a definitive way of proving what I say. But so far it hasn't been placebo for me. And its only on one and only one build of franco, r29

Who here have rooted their phone? I have slight issue with the instructions,

after unlocking bootloader, they says press vol + 2 time to go to recovery, then press power button to get into,

There i can see another green android,

at this part, they say press vol + and power button together then can see
some options like factory reset etc. <= i can't get into here.

in the end, i installed SU without wiping anything.

SHould not have any issue right?

Just bought the Rock slim shell case from Adix82. Here's my 2 cents on how it compares to the Nillkin hardback case.

Thickness:
The Rock case is definitely slimmer than the Nilkin case. I think using the Rock case, it gives you a more "naked" feel. The Nillkin case (eventhough already quite slim), it does add a wee bit more bulk to the phone.

Grip/Feel:
Both cases are actually quite slippery. Even with the Nillkin's textured back, somehow I feel the soft matte finish doesnt add to much grip. But just my personal opinion, the Nillkin case somehow feels it was made with higher quality material. While the Rock case feels like cheap plastic.

Protection:
Not much difference to both cases here. Both case doesnt cover the top and bottom chrome bezel. And both cases also provides minimal lift on the front. This means if you place your phone face down, the screen will not touch the surface - which is a good thing. Against scuffs and scratches, good. Against drops, not very good.

finally i have a decent sp that covers entire screen (plus the curved sides). if anyone interested, it's bestskinsever . this is a wet application sp, so orange peel effect is there but very minimum. it's still much better than xtremeguard, which i still have on my n4's back. cut is perfect and it feels very smooth although also feel slightly rubbery when you swipe harder. it's very cheap too, only s$16 incl shipping.

To any future buyers, IMHO, DO NOT use vPost. They'll give you so many excuses to not delivery your package to you on time. (5-8working days) It's being 11 working days and I've yet to receive my phone..
