okay i checked and i could order from google playstore

another recalculation e.g 8GB nexus4

Google playstore = 299USD + 13.99USD
Shipping = 11USD (6-8days)
Insurance = 1% x [C+F] = 1% x [299USD + 11USD] =3.1USD
Freight = [ Chargeable Weight x S$ 9.85 ] / SG Custom Exchange Rate
= [0.5kg x $9.85] / 1.22
= 4.03 USD
Sum of CIF = 299USD + 3.1USD + 4.03USD = 306.13USD x 1.22= 373.48SGD
7% GST = 373.48 x 7% = 26.143SGD
5% service fee = 26.14 x 5% = 1.3SGD
Total taxes = 26.143SGD + 1.3SGD = 27.443SGD

total cost = [ 299USD + 13.99USD + 11USD ] x 1.26 + 27.443SGD
= 435.67 SGD (8GB)
= 498.67 SGD (16GB)

Wa hmmmm I hope can get the phone... But it seems like Google is pretty bent on not letting people import from other countries. Not even between countries that have Nexus 4 offered on the play store (perhaps price difference issues), and definitely not for countries without the additional playstore contents (likely because no profit from content for selling to us).

Hopefully we can get the phone relatively easily.

Also, I've read that the Nexus 4 on many benchmarks performs pretty stunningly bad. I know that this is pre-release software blah blah, but the issue at hand is not exactly totally a software issue, but rather, a hardware issue. The S4 Pro should perform much better than expected and the reason why it isn't doing its mojo up to par right now is because of thermal throttling. When the processor hits a certain temperature, the processing speeds gets throttled to prevent damage to the hardware. How the heat being an issue in the Nexus 4 but not LG Optimus G is beyond me (although likely poor design could play a part).

Proof: Anandtech have run new Nexus 4 benchmarks which show the unit performing very well which they have not (yet) published. : Android

They did a benchmark test in normal conditions and another in a freezer condition, the results were starkingly different.

However, despite these synthetic benchmark results, the phone still performs really well under real world conditions, despite the possibility of thermal throttling when on heavy load for a long period of time. So don't get disappointed reading all these benchmark results, these benchmarks are not really a reliable source of comparison.

I am able to purchase the Nexus 4 and I only intend to get 1 set.

Since each Google account is able to get 2 sets, I am willing to help one bro purchase one.

Cost will be: Bearing of slight shipment charges ~S$30 (Shipment from USA Google -> OR, USA -> SGP)(Will advise on the amount) + US$299/US$349 (Will advise on OCBC foreign conversion rate) + GST 7%. (Won't evade the GST as risk custom random check)

PM me for details or post below if interested.

US$12.99 x 1.25 = ~S$17
Shipment to SGP ~ S$20
US$349 X 1.25 = ~$437
S$437 + S$17 + S$20 = S$474
S$474 x 1.07(GST) = ~$510

Wow... $510 for a quad core phone... lol didn't realise. Hehe... hmm... given this rate who want to buy a 16GB Nexus 4 for $600+ :p

Can PM me, I wanna get fast cash.

it's open for order already?

I got a question.
If we use this method to buy do you think our account will be disabled if Google finds out we sent to a freight forwarder?

what i 600+? i am not selling leh.

i am just one dude that trying to buy for himself :s13:

btw, i managed to get to this step (see screenshot below). so i suppose it will work after all?

i managed to overcome the billing address issue by adding my existing card back while purchasing music but enter the comGateway address and tada, suddenly it seems to be working. but while i attempted to purchase a song, i met with 'technical error' so i did not actually complete the song purchase. perhaps, i shall try again later. looks like it's not a card issue... or is it? :s22:

hope this will help the rest.

btw guys, which delivery company are you guys choosing to ship your Nexus or Chromebook to Singapore?

Vpost? ShopOnline(OCBC version of Comgateway)? Or Citi Coceirge?

Was thinking, should I outsource it to small private Singapore enterprises? They seems much cheaper and more reliable. They deliver the good themselves instead of using DHL or SingPost etc...
