Hi all

Good news for all Nexus 4 import owners.

Just an update: I just sent my phone back through SingPost. It cost only $21.70 SGD inclusive of tracking number & a brown-parcel envelope with bubble wrap over nexus 4 package. It will take 6-8 days to arrive in US destination address. Google requires you to send it back within 21 days upon reaching CGW/Borderlinux/US mailing address. They based it on the tracking details. You need to phone them up if you need extension, they gladly gave it for customers outside of US. I requested for extra 7 days.

Also, send back all original packaging with accessories or LG may charge you for every missing accessories. I highly doubt they will charge you for a missing manual, usb cable, or even the pin for sim card slot removal.

Total cost to fix my phone, SGD $35.45
  • CGW - US $11.00 or SGD $13.75 (free upgrade to express 3-5 days)
  • SingPost - SGD $21.70 (6-8 days delivery + tracking + parcel envelope)

Here are SingPost services you can use to send your item back. Apparently, SingPost mentioned that many singaporeans use this the standard option very often to ship items to US. Both services are delivered in the same fashion, it's just a matter of time (stored in their warehouse) before it reaches US.
.

i don't understand this part.

My nexus 4 phone was down for 1 week+. The new one came back with new audio design. It's all well-worth it for the replacement overseas than local LG that replaces only the broken parts. Since I got all new parts and phone, I'll recommend you to do the same as well than to go back LG Singapore.

The phone does not support 2.1A chargers well and screen still goes alittle cranky.

What is the model number written on your new nexus 4 box? heard some people say the RMAed phone from google are refurbished ones

you can turn off pie..
Quicksettings you mean? When in pie, swipe pass the buttons (to about the middle of the screen) then release. Depending on your pie gravity, half of the screen will show quicksettings, the other half will show notifications.

i don't understand this part.

when the new phone reached your door step (google assumes its the mailing destination address), you will need to return the faulty phone for RMA within 21 days.

unless you are in US, or you decide to pay for faster air mail, if you need more time to mail back to LG Electronics, then contact Google to request for time extension.

After i read your message, i called Google to confirm the rumours, it's a brand new unit they sent me. and they don't send out refurbished units at least as of today. I was still alittle skeptical. I went to read up elsewhere, here's the result.

I'll make some logical deductions. This is the first batch of the newly improved designed nexus 4. The packaging has no defects inside or outside. Google has billed me the same price as a brand new phone if I failed to return the phone to them. Google mentioned its new.

It's new. Another good news for Nexus 4 import owners! :D

LG is a Korean brand afterall. Some had theirs made in China, apparently.

And went to JB today, Digi is selling the Nexus 4, also quite a lot of coverage in their tech magazines. And Samsuck doesn't monopolise the hp scene, unlike in SG. No wonder Google doesn't want to open a market for SG, our sinkies all brainwashed by Apple or Samsuck.. Haiz.

If you changing in Sep, might as well get the next gen Nexus.

Wait till iPhone 5S/6 announced, recontract, sell, profit.
Use the money to buy Nexus 5.

yeah.

oh there's also no problems about warranty if you buy it from another forumer. As long as it's a Nexus 4 from USA, your warranty will be honoured with Google (LG Electronics USA).

Use the charger provided. I had another friend charging with iPhone 4's charger on his Nexus 4 without issues since day 1.

Good to hear that! Now maybe we should avoid non-google nexus chargers that are rated more than 2A.

No need. Tell the singpost personnel that it is for returning to the manufacturer - show them the shipping label to help them understand your situation. You will need to write "FOR RETURN" under declaration portion with the item detail.

Yes theres insurance. SingPost - Send Document/Parcel

Hi, where did you stick the shipping label and rma form provided by google support or is the label not required if using singpost shipping? Has your phone reached US?
