Price of Nexus in SG

We need to price in the sales tax on US and GST on our beloved when bring the device here.

If one buy from importer, also need to consider their overhead cost, i.e. retail shop rental, warehouse cost, internet usage charges, etc.

As long as it is acceptable and convenient, one can consider getting from importer instead of DIY.

$350 (phone price) + $15 (Google shipping) + $18 (forwarder shipping) = $383
$383 x 1.27 x 1.07 = $520.

That's the max I can come up with, care to show how you got $20 extra?

hmm, but since the battery door comes off relatively easily, much better than carrying an extended battery which requires another battery door or a charger around eh?

Huh? Who said anything about one being much better than the other? I'm just saying it's not as simple or easy as you made it out to be. :D Carrying a extra battery is just as "convenient" as carrying a portable charger around. It's the individual's "excuses" that makes it different.

Whatever method suits the user fine is good enough, no need to put down other users preferences for the sake of justifying one's own choices. :)

i can't imagine the trouble for the freelance importer for just 20 or 30 bucks. as a rule of thumb, they sure do have to cover those costs and not to mention the potential pestering by buyers who don't know what they are buying. those time are money too. some people not quite understand this.

Oh, no wonder. You're pushing the shipping costs of 7 and 10 to 4, no wonder. People selling at $530 only. :s22:

all for my friends, none of the devices are for myself....i'm not selling or earning anything......just buying for them....i'm earning 0 dollars on this (other than the points in my credit card of course :D)

and it's only 10+ more, don't think anybody will be bothered by it especially for those who had no idea how to bring in.....

Your friends all developers? I mean, Nexus should only be used by people who knows how to root and customize right?
You don't want them to use it as an iPhone, oh no. It'll dilute the Nexus name.

we are all power users that started since the day of nexus one...

we know the first thing to do on a nexus phone is 'fastboot oem unlock' :D

we don't need to be developers to get a nexus phone.....a power user is equally 'elligible' :D

That's where most of the people go wrong. Nexus devices are also fantastic for daily usage (For general consumers). The same thing with S3, Note 2, One X and iphone 5. Put it that way.

i do not own any nexus devices, but i wonder if it is really necessary to be a developer of any kind to be able to appreciate the nexus 4.

Haha I see, only "power" users or developers are "eligible" to use Nexus phones. :s8:

for normal users, that wouldn't really understand what's the point of an unlocked bootloader and having lotsa developers interest and custom roms on it....even the fast update, i don't think your mum's gonna be interested in whether she's using 4.1.2 or 4.2...

but for power users, that .1 upgrade is a BIG deal...just saying :D

Another example...u see so many Galaxy S phones and other phones still used by millions of 'normal' users using ICS or even *GASP* Gingerbread and you don't hear them complaining..

however, you see some of the galaxy nexus users in the forum already complaining how come they haven't receive the OTA for 4.2 yet......just saying......power users like us want to get the latest point release updates....
