The Nexus 4 Thread

Hello all. I've just ord'ed and am looking to change to a new phone. I'm thinking about Sony Xperia V or the Nexus 4. I'm not too technology inclined and was using bb bold. Basically, I just need a phone that can call/text/whatsapp, surf net, have useful apps like for directions and maybe some on-the-go gaming. And of course, battery life which can last for at least a day. So does the nexus 4 fit the bill? Thanks in advance!

Oh ya, forgot to add my budget is $600

The Nexus 4 is the best bang for buck phone at the $600 price range with great specs and instant updates from Google.

The thing is, you don't have to customize anything at all if you don't want to. Just use it like a normal smartphone, install apps/games, make calls and message people with it. It isn't just a phone for techies.

Ah. Ok. I think I'll get one soon. Is it worth it to get the 16gb one or 8gb one? I won't be putting any music into the phone so its mainly going to be apps and pics.

More space is always better especially since it doesn't have expandable memory.

Yes, the Nexus 4 would suit you. Just need to check, do you like to store lots of videos/music on your phone? The one drawback of the Nexus 4 is that it doesn't allow expandable storage, and onboard storage is relatively paltry (8GB or 16GB), so you might want to take note of that.

Games can take up quite a bit of space too, so if you think you might like gaming on the phone you should go for the 16GB.

singtel will charge S$35 for changing to micro sim.

Can find some template over the net, paste it over your card and DIY cut accordingly. If not can always go to mobile shop instead.

bought N4 for my wife and her self cut sim card not detected by N4... when i plug in my actual micro sim card, it's detected.. so, i have to go down to ST to get a replacement micro sim card.... beware... self cut card might not work....
