no. This thing is LG promised that if you buy a exported Nexus 4 before 25 Dec, you will get warranty. But they didn't keep their promise. After 25 Dec is already confirmed by LG no warranty.

from what I know it is a known issue with not just starhub. It is the phone's problem not Starhub. I forgotten if stock kernel 4.2.2 had that problem though....

Anyway guys I just went to the LG service centre. The people there said they did not receive instructions about Nexus 4. They said if service, it would be counted as exported set and no warranty. They didn't know the before 25 Dec thing. They would be checking out for me and will call me.

My Nexus 4 was completely unusable (cannot switch on - outside warranty scope) and I went to LG about a month ago. They told me outright that since the Nexus 4 is not yet launched in Spore, they are unable to do any service/repairs - even if I agreed to pay for it. Eventually I had to send my unit back to LG USA for repairs. This is extremely difficult - unless you have an address, tel number and credit card (all USA). So I had to use my niece's details - she lives in USA.

If your unit is malfunctioning and falls under Google's warranty, then you can send back to Google USA. Similarly you need USA address, tel number, etc. In my case I bought thru a reseller here in Spore and would need to get him to do the warranty repairs. Just too troublesome.

So, take good care of your Nexus 4 and keep your fingers crossed!

no noticeable batt drain.and u can customise how u want it to recognise the 'swipe pattern'.

This is too troublesome for us to send back all the way to US just to service our phone. What if after the 1 year warranty we want to change the battery or service the faulty power button? Cant just LG service for us if we agree to pay ?

When you buy the N4, you should have been prepared that this could happen.
It sucks but nothing you can do about it. Unless you don't mind send back to US.

otherwise, just keep your N4 loh. its good if you're a dev. can use for testing new android versions.

Yup, i have considered the fact that to enjoy the benefits of a "pure google" experience, value for money phone there will be some sacrifices i have to make. No warranty and having LG as the manufacturer.

But what i dont understand is that why cant LG do simple servicing like changing of batteries, fixing faulty power button, especially when we are willing to pay for it. I mean after all the LG made the phone right ?

I am not asking LG to honor to the international warranty anyway.

Lg also dunno how to do business. Phones made by lg anyway and they are not the hottest phone sales in Singapore.

If you are the original purchaser and bought thru PlayStore, and looking for warranty service from Google, then you may be able to get a RMA from Goggle. They go thru a complex process of crediting your CC for the original purchase and debiting your CC, etc. Too complex for me! And then you have to pay for the two way freight costs. It costs me almost $70 just to send my Nexus (in original packaging with the stock ancillaries) back to US.

The N4 has a sealed back cover and it is no easy task to open to access the battery or its internals. In any case if any part is broken or defective and needs replacement, the 3rd party shops wont be able to do it.
