I have the same problem :( didn't know LG also copy the unresponsive home button feature from Apple!!

Google the Touch Control thingy but it requires a custom kernel. I want to keep my phone stock. Anybody successfully RMA the phone before? Care to share your experience?

It works on stock kernel, but requires root and unlock. I'm using it currently, paired with Navigation Bar tweaks. Holding on the Back button locks my device.

Hmm, it doesn't work on mine. I'm on 4.2.2, unlocked and rooted via NRT 1.6.3.

Answer my own question. You have to flash the kernel the author of TouchControl posted on his forum for 4.2.2. The free version only allows you to unlock but not lock. Quite cool actually :)

Happy man again.

Via swiping my device's screen.

Device revision number, revision 10, 11..

Hi, where did you get the navigation bar tweak?

It's present in most ROMs, I'm on Xylon. Previously used LiquidSmooth, also had the feature.

Btw you don't see my nav buttons because I set transparency to 100%, so when using my phone, the bar blends in with the bezel.

Did you open the app and at the bottom of the app, there's this 'Load' switch, press it?

Edit: Oops, my mistake.. Apologies. TouchControl's thread on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2101488

You're supposed to flash their stock kernel.
Works well with Franco too.

Haiz.. Revision 10, power button CMI already. Still got one more year left until next Nexus..

Swiping your phone to wake the phone? Wouldn't that lead to a lot of accidental waking of the phone..?

my butt not that pro, can trigger two swipes (one to wake the phone, the other to unlock the phone). plus I rarely put my phone in my pocket, I'm always using it, or it's on a table. plus the paid version of the app allows you to customize how/where the stroke must be applied in order to wake the phone. IMO I'd rather risk accidentally waking my phone than breaking the lock button.

To be precise, you need a kernel that supports loading of modules. Google in their infinite wisdom disabled this in stock 4.2.2 kernels, which is why you need a custom kernel.

If you want stock kernel with this and a bit more stuff, I recommend faux123's enhanced stock. Supports module loading (i.e. touch control) + display tweaking + sound tweaking. Basically allows you to tweak all the important stuff.

Also, not that easy to accidentally swipe and wake, simply because you need a full left to right movement plus reasonably straight line. Downside is you eat some battery, but I don't use my phone heavy enough to feel the additional battery drain.

I'm on Franco's stable (TC doesn't work on nightlies) and I used their stock with enabled module, no freezing at all.. Are you on any ROMs? And what's your kernel?
