So when setting up N5, we can only use the gmail acct used to buy our N5?

Pls advise.

any accounts also can

I believe you can change the region. It's a developer's phone after all.

think they are talking about the after effects of buying devices .. you get lock-ed to either US store (if u bought there) or in this case, locked to Japan playstore.. each time u go playstore now w/o VPN u will see japanese words.. and cannot buy/install certain apps that are for Singapore only.. such as the stupid AXS Payment app, Capitastar app, and some other local apps dun let u install if u are locked to US or other stores that are not SG based.. sian :o

You mean on the phone itself, even though you have signed in using your Singapore Google account, it's still locked to Japan's region?

I thought as long as you login a gmail that is registered under SG / US, your playstore will be in English & currency will be SGD/USD?

Personally i got two gmail for playstore, one US and one SG one. can switch between both tho.!

Yes, im doing that too. US tied account cant download/buy region locked app like mcdelivery. Its a slight hassle, so a warning for those who intend to get from other play stores.

So there will only be a problem if I sign in to the Nexus 5 using my japan account right? No one will be doing that I believe, as all have proper SG accounts and will be using those.

No such thing la. As long as you log in to your phone with your sg account to, your store will be sg. If it doesn't change back, just reset the play store and it will Che k region again. It's based on account one. Not where you buy the device from one

-estimated shipping costs for 1 unit?
-better to separate into different orders and parcels or into 1 parcel to save on gst?

If you're having issues viewing your intended country's Play Store and would like to change your default payment method or update an existing billing address in Google Wallet, please use the following steps:

1) Sign into your Google Wallet account to manage your payment methods (https://wallet.google.com/manage/paymentMethods)

2) Delete all of your payment methods from Google Wallet, and only add a card to one with a billing address located inside your desired country

3) Open the Play Store and navigate to any item available for download

4) Click to begin a download until you reach the "Accept and buy" screen (no need to complete the purchase)

5) Close the Play Store and clear data for the Google Play Store application (Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Clear Data) or clear your browser cache

6) Re-open the Play Store. You should now see the Play Store that matches your default payment instrument's billing country.

If you haven't yet added a payment method to your account for the first time, please add a card directly from the Play Store with a billing address that matches your intended country location. Then, follow steps 3 through 6 to show your intended country's Play Store.
