since they have 5 versions, google may decide to take a break.. but i hope the software does not stop at KK and go beyond, otherwise, will need to get the GPE to have the vanilla feel.

But seriously, vanilla android in nexus normally have mediocre battery life, lousy camera and no features at all to help in day to day usage, other than faster than others regular android version upgrade but they do stop at certain hardware restrictions too, so it's not really a confirm update for life.

Some more Google play does not sell direct in Singapore, so we are always paying more than other countries and no warranty for nexus devices.

Manufacturers UI in recent times have come real close to feel and speed of stock android, like sense and timescape. And they offer much more features, better camera and also much better battery utilisation even with the same batt capacity, not forgetting they have microsd card slot some more.

So in essense, the value of nexus is only applicable to USA or countries that can buy cheaply since those places either u sign 2 yr contract or pay higher than sgp prices for phone without contract.

I am not condemning nexus, in fact I adore the way the hardware so simplistic design and stock pure android experience but I feel these devices cater more for developers than real world usage in our daily life.

it's like comparing something that is packed with awesome feature and one is packed with minimal feature.
e.g. camera. one produce amazing shot and one mediocre.
imo. you pay what you get. no offences :)

I agree. But nexus5 is not exactly cheap to begin with. Esp in sgp, considering it has no warranty.

Even the "cheap" G2 $580 beats the nexus5 hands down in almost everything it does.

I actually agree with newouverture, even though I just switched from the G2 to the N5. The main reason I did so was because of stock Android and the "stealthy aesthetics" of the N5, which really appealed to me. So far the only thing I'm missing from the G2 is the excellent battery life.

Check if the preferred type is LTE or not

I'm on PA too, but I'm not on 4g plan
