I dropped my nexus 5 on the road this morning, screen cracked but phone still working.

Anyone has any idea how or where I can get the screen replaced? Also how much will it cost?

Thanks.

I keep coming back to the Nexus 5 after using the 5X and S7. Somehow the Nexus 5 is just so sublime to use, even though it's specs are pretty outdated now.

Anyone still rocking their Nexus 5 till now? :)

It's still better than the current Nexus in some aspects. For example, the N5 actually has a proper wired tv out capability. Miracast is disabled on the current Nexus devices, good luck trying to cast your screen without a wifi connection.

Very true. And for general usage, it's even smoother and more responsive than the 5X. The only thing now is I'm looking to replace my N5's battery to see if I can get better battery time, and see if there is any oleophobic coating I can apply on the screen, short of getting a screen protector.

One thing I can say, it's damn durable. My wife's N5 thrown around by my kid so many times, and it's still working generally (except nfc and qi charging spoil liao).

Why not a tempered glass SP? Damn cheap anyway.

My Nexus 5 and Nexus 4 died in around 1.5 years. I suggest going for more reliable brands if you want your phones to last.

Google search "Nexus 5 stuck at boot animation" and "Nexus 4 soft keys". These are 2 common problems for the earlier models.

I can't help but think it may be a LG thing given their current flagships track record.

My N5 is still going strong. It's become a lot slower, and some stuff like GPS doesn't work as well as it used to, but it's been almost 3 years.

Same here. Dropped multiple times and save for a couple of cosmetic nicks, the phone is still going strong. Have never liked applying SPs/cases for my phones, but may make an exception this time.

Mine is coming 2 year+ this August and is showing no signs of dying. In fact, it seems to have been given a new lease of life with Lollipop and now Marshmallow. The N5 is snappier than before, even more so than my N5X.

Can't say for their newer phones, but the LG G2 I was using before was a pretty good device, save for the horrendous UI.

3 years is pretty amazing. Actually I'm thinking of getting a brand new N5 and save it for when my current device eventually dies, if ever haha

I bought my N5 in Nov 2013 and stopped using it since I got my N6P. The N5 is now kept as a spare and 2nd phone (for travel). Its still working great with the latest Rom; and it is so comfortable in the hands - light and ergonomic! I will keep my N5 - a collector's item.

Yeah. I have palm cramps using the 6P without some sort of ring attachment - I hate using two hands on a phone. And it's not like I have tiny hands. :(

It's just too wide. My wife's S7 Edge is nearly the same size in terms of screen, but it's much more ergonomic.

Hehe....I keep mine stuck onto the wall as a makeshift home automation remote. And sometimes I cast spotify to it. :D

by nov 2016 my daily driver Nexus5 will be 3 years old, but still mint condition.
still works great, battery still good (~1.5 days), though i am light user. i will just stick to it and likely pass on the 5X/6P.
