If anyone is interested to know, I called Google Play US and asked about buying the phone from Japan the warranty. They said the US side can settle the RMA process but we need to send the phone back to Japan. So no need to deal with the Japanese Play Store reps.

Did they mention how long is the warranty if we buy from Japan?

If the status is still pending, where does the shipping date come from?
If the shipping date was provided, i definitely will agree with your point, else we will still be waiting to until god-know-when.

:D

upon check out, it shows the shipping date...

To make matters worse, people who ordered later get their orders shipped while we're still here sucking our thumbs not knowing if we should cancel and rejoin the end of the queue or wait.

Exactly, I ordered since 1 Nov. Tried possible methods to get latest update about my order. Until now stuck at f**king Pending. :s12:

understand the anxiety, this is nothing new, same frustrations since Nexus 7 (2012) and Nexus 4 orders all along last year.. but if it says 'ship by 5 Nov' ... then wait lor :D

the 'lucky fellas' who ordered yesterday and got shipment notification yesterday also, at the moment the tracking number doesn't work, it just means a shipping label has been assigned or printed, but the item hasn't been submited to yamato yet.. :D

There are a lot of newcomers here trying to get their Nexus phone for the first time. Those who tried to get their Nexus 4 from US would have experienced how difficult it was, plus issues with trying to use the right credit card. Thankfully nowadays there are those resellers who will do the risking for you (warranty issues, dead pixels, etc) and you just have to buy a perfect phone from them.

Of cos there are the few of us who actually bought every version of Google phone right from G1 onwards. We all knew the risks - Google can cancel our orders anytime, bar our Google account, etc.

If you are new to getting a Nexus phone this way, please realise that what we are doing is basically trying to run a loophole through the system. There is no guarantee here. If it works, it works. Sometimes it might work for someone else but not you even though you did the same thing. Well tough luck.

If it doesn't work for you, just keep trying if you really want it.

sorry 1 question, when Google states ship by 5th November or whatever date it is

do they really honor the shipping date and ship it out? or it can be beyond 5th November.

On a side note, anyone has read any news on the battery life of the Nexus 5? Curious to know how it holds up with that puny 2300mAh.

Just wanna update you guys about vPost.

"We are sorry to inform you that we do not accept transactions with merchants that require Google Wallet payment.

Please let us know if there's another merchant which you would like to buy from. We'll process your request as soon as we can."

That is if you are using vPost to purchase any product using Google Wallet. You are however purchasing your nexus device from the play store and paying them directly and then shipping the item using vPost. What you mentioned is only if you are trying to purchase and ship the Nexus device through vPost.

Usually they do ship out at the designated date. But this being the product launch, the servers all under 'attack' with so many orders that overwhelm the servers, weird things do happen. Like confirmation emails not coming, until duno when then get the shipment email, or the weird last-in-first-out kind of orders and those who ordered 1-2days ago haven't got the shipment notification while those who just ordered 6hrs ago have gotten their shipment notice. Anything goes :D Seems like Google's logistic team ain't as good as Apple's (maybe outsourced?) since Apple launch dun seem to have such issues although they still may have short supply problem.

if u want to confirm + chop get the shipment notice in 24hrs then keep re-ordering like other forummer said, if u get the shipment u can go cancel the previous order, but u risk they all get processed to ship at the same time and you cannot cancel it.. ;)

I believed this is from the vShop4U service.

Bought from the US Play Store many times, no problems at all. I have a dedicated US VPN account so that part is easy. Used Borderlinx to ship back. But now that the US version LTE band cannot work in SG, hai very sians. At first placed order with Borderlinx UK Concierge but looks like they also cannot order, so I think tonight go home time to play with JP VPN.

Has anyone used Tenso's buying service? I placed an order for a black 32Gb on Sat and I'm still waiting. Apparently it's a public holiday there today so maybe thats why its taking so long on getting any sort of update.

yeah those problems that you have described and listed are exactly what we are facing right now. :s13::s13:

personally i think Apple limits their product order form on a daily basis on a quota figure thus their logistics seem much better for us as consumers.

hearing from ex-buyers that they do ship out @ designated date is such a relief :s12: hopefully google do honor it

i wouldn't want to keep re-entering my order like you said, lest all get processed at the same time. i will be in a lppl situation.

i guess i shall wait and see till my shipping date is here.

thanks!

When you input your CC details in Google Wallet, a sum of $2 AUD or Jap or USD will be charged, and then reversed. I believe they do that to make sure it's a live account. Once your order is good then the whole sum will be charged, so be patient guys, the trick is to constantly check with your bank whether the order was charged to your CC.

If it's pending, there is hope.

If it's declined, try again.

You can call google wallet to ask them to speed up the review, ask them to IM the Risk Agent to review your order asap like what I did, but by doing so you run the risk of getting your wallet account suspended, like mine did. :s13:

Anyway, good luck for all your orders and yes, my Aussie order finally shipped..
