Yes. Using the VPN created a HK google account (verified via SG phone though)

Everything went fine but just get cancelled at the final stage. Quite sad.

The address belongs to a friend's husband which both of them are not very IT savvy.. Asking them buy is a bit hard though.

I highly doubt it's problematic lol. More a SG registered cc issue I believe.

Issuer Identification Numbers(IIN) on credit cards can tell the country of origin.

They can narrow down the origin country who issued the card.

How to place an order from HK - any takers?

Was reviewing through the post and decided to give it a shot myself.

Changed my proxy to a HK proxy, proceeded to google.com.hk/nexus/5 and successfully placed an order.

The trick was to send it to a HK address and to put the billing address as the same and not your local SG address. For a 32G phone, it costs HKD3588.

I wouldn't mind taking orders for serious buyers for a small fee of SGD40 per unit to bring it back to SG. Feel free to contact me at wally168-at-gmail.com. Paiseh, cannot put the actual sign as I am too junior

I thought the cheapest one I got online was a dud until I narrowed it down. Quite a few possible problems.

HDMI cable? I had one hdmi cable that refused to work with the slimport adapter but works fine on other devices.

Plugged in the external power supply on the adapter? It's supposed to work without that, but sometimes it doesn't.

Stock or custom roms/kernels? Was flash crazy on Nexus 4, then found out that kernels and/or custom roms can break slimport usage. These days I just stick to stock with Xposed mods, and the old slimport setup on the N5 was just plug and play.

hi,

I am not sure if i wan to do a return/exchange to Japan Google.
My nexus 5 there are some small particles/dirts under the screen. Its abt 4 tiny dots/dirts. and also there are background noise when i do video recording.
If i do a RMA, i would need to pay for the shipping cost to tenso again for shipment to Spore as well as it may subject to another custom tax/gst on the replacement nexus 5.

What do u guys suggest? live with it on the tiny dirts under the screen or RMA?
