Hello, how much is nexus 5 retailing now? Would like to upgrade it from my galaxy nexus

If you ship if yourself from US (no LTE), about 530. If you ship from other parts of the world (i.e. Japan), about 610, depending on conversion rates. Buy from others, they mark up about 50-70 dollars.

Shop prices already dropped. Now open surface selling 16gb 540, red white mobile 550. Both are D821 LTE enabled sets. No point buying from people here selling above shop prices.

I just checked opensurface - http://www.theopensurface.com - 620 for 16gb, even more expensive than "people here selling above shop prices"

I just checked opensurface - The OpenSurface - Google, Samsung, Apple, Asus Electronics & Accessories | Case, Tablets, FITBIT & More - 620 for 16gb, even more expensive than "people here selling above shop prices"

You check their FB page. They have PO for 16GB and 32GB with full payment with the prices mentioned below. The prices that you saw on their website are for walk-in customers, not PO.

However, I just saw the following:

The Opensurface Singapore Pte Ltd All Nexus 5 have been reserved. Thanks. We will update again once we have more stocks incoming

I'm a seller myself- the cheaper price is for preorder for which full payment is required. For this the shop takes no risk of the buyer running away and has guaranteed profit, and the buyer has to wait at least 2 weeks.

However, those that order the phones first take the risk that the buyer will run, and also no guarantee of profit if the phone will not be sold. We order without full deposit and therefore take more risk.

Hope you understand the differences and acknowledge that different pricing takes into account different risk premiums. I think mkt prices have been set, and I personally have not had issues selling phones at the higher price, because of some very good people out there that understand the extra effort we put in. We are definitely not like those that order ssd from amazon and mark it up immediately without any effort on our part whatsoever and when anyone with a pc can order directly from amazon.

On our part we gotta set up VPN, arrange a Japanese contact and then monitor shipments and stay accountable to buyers.

Edit* look at it this way- we order phone first and bring it in and pay full amount, no guarantee can sell, and spend time and effort to advertise. If can't sell must eat the phone.

Contrast the different biz model - advertise once, people come to them and pay full deposit, absolutely no risk to the shop to bring it in, and 20 dollar guaranteed profit.

How you know if they never secretly get from elsewhere? Or got some other arrangement with retailer maybe.
Anything is possible one.
They can even send people there buy and come back.
