i've been an iphone user and i don't really follow this kind of stuff so that's why i'm asking.

so many new models this month, more ppl buying those and want to sell old phone -->supplies up, but demand is still the same or maybe lower. price have to go down to increase the demandNow with xiaomi around, it's more difficult to sell.
i've been an iphone user and i don't really follow this kind of stuff so that's why i'm asking.
Xiaomi still has no LTE support and frankly, I would like my Android experience to NOT mimick iOS in any way at all, which is what's MIUI is doing.. And it's pretty crappy to me at least.
At least have a app drawer or something.
When people said it looks like iOS, it means smooth and visually pleasing like iOS. Which are good traits. And trust me I used iOS before and definitely not a fan of them. To say that MIUI is like iOS is a insult to Android and MIUI haha.
well to me xiaomi is an apple wannabe.
everything from them is "inspired" by apple..... EVERYTHING
they won by low pricing and maintaining quality

I came from Cyanogenmod Kitkat pure Android experience before I jumped to MIUI. Basically both is the same experience, clean and pure Android experience which is butter smooth and many customization.
Difference is cyanogenmod is more tuned towards performance, partly cos it is a rooted rom and my MIUI is stock Xiaomi rom. Other than that, MIUI rom also focuses on better skin and aesthetics haha.

Do note MIUI also has rooted rom support for many phones like Nexus5 too. Can try too. The OS size of my Mi3 is 3.5+gb,rouhly the same as Nexus 5 OS size. Minimal bloatware and butter smooth =D
Normally I'd let such a self-opinionated post slide, but you quoted me, so I feel very obliged to reply you.
And I would go on to write a ultra long post about the birds and the bees, up to a place where the sun don't shine.
But nah. Instead, in few points with no particular order, I'd like to, let's say, present my two cents:
1. Not everyone is as geeky, nerdy, or advanced as you to root and flash devices with, you admitted it, custom roms. Nor is as anal as you to look at the remaining space; ergo, deduce how much space the OS of a device is occupying. And further deduce that the smaller the size, the less "bloatware".
2. MIUI is, and will always be, SKINNED Android. Nexus called; it wants it's "clean and pure Android experience" back. Try double finger pull down on your Mi3. Nothing will happen.
3. Chicken or egg first question: iOS came first. MIUI was inspired by it, LATER ON. They say imitation is the best form of flattery, and therefore, you like iOS sub-consciously, but lust and embrace features that are in Android's subset. In essence you just insulted the source of inspiration for your phone's OS, and is now using a imitation of it (going by your stock MIUI rom). What a cause for self insult. Time for some soul searching perhaps?
4. You are not a fan of iOS, fine, we get that. One man's meat is another man's poison, and whatever floats your boat, does not make everyone's boat float. Ergo, again, you are in no capacity to make sweeping statements that when "people said it looks like iOS, it means smooth and visually pleasing". It smothers (does it even?) and visually pleases you, you and you only in this post you make. 2 posts below you substantiate what I say, not your post.
5. 2 phones with different OS outlook and features subset with same size, means "minimal bloatware" because only ONE is "pure Android", I'd love to explore the broad logic in that. If a S5 gives similar size, IF, that means its pure and minimal?
6. I'll go out on a limb here and guess you are one of those who revel in the 12GB 3G plan and "don't need LTE". About every other Nexus 5 user avoids USA sets like the plague. But that's really nitpicking and unsubstantiated on my side. And the time is very much limited anyway.
7. Thanks for the offer to try MIUI on anything other than a Xiaomi, but i'm very happy to use, by your assumption, impure, colored, bloated Android on my G2, and because my Nexus 5 is not Cyanogen-modded, it's not "tuned for performance". Man, i'm really missing out.
End of the day, your "haha"s' and "=D" do little to hide that your post is a self-opinionated and conceited view of what you choose to hold in your hand. But you know, that is what is contributing to diversity. I have no comment for diversity other than it gives rise to choice and variety.
Tada.
EsPpY for president!

....
The point I'm trying to bring out is ...Android is an open-source software stack created for a wide array of devices with different form factors. The primary purposes of Android are to create an open software platform available for carriers, OEMs, and developers to make their innovative ideas a reality and to introduce a successful, real-world product that improves the mobile experience for users. We also wanted to make sure there was no central point of failure, where one industry player could restrict or control the innovations of any other. The result is a full, production-quality consumer product with source code open for customization and porting.
Each person's way to decrypting something differs. Your meat, my poison. I listed one single point and thank god it's just one, you had one to nitpick. Imagine me going down the road of going the whole shebang. You can always find a comeback to whatever I may say, so yeah, same with me. Because there's 2 sides to a coin this can never end well.I would like to share my 2 cents as well. iOS came first and every other touch UIs that comes after including android are inspired by iOS.
From what I see from your previous post, you mean
no app drawer = crappy + mimick iOS?
with app drawer = good Android experience?
what so big deal about app drawer? with app drawer or not, you are able to launch your app. and in what way does it mimick iOS?
Android is built by Google and it's Google decision to have a app drawer on Android. But rmb there's Android Open Source Project(AOSP) where anyone can like what you said "skinned" on top of it. OEM and developer can modified anything including remove the app drawer and there's nothing wrong about it.
Like I quote from AOSP site:
The point I'm trying to bring out is ...
Your beloved app drawer is a Google idea so you are a google experience fan (maybe that's why there is this google experience launcher) or google nexus fan, not pure android fan. I don't believe the so-called clean and pure android, it's either google experience or other form of androids.
