how do you achieve 10 hours standby with only 1% drain? please teach me master!

power down the phone.

Lol, take time to learn from XDA.

I turn off data/wifi when i'm asleep, don't want to be disturbed by WhatsApp and what not, if anything important, people usually call.

I don't install nonsense apps that constantly seek background data like Facebook and Anti-Virus crapware.

I use things like Greenify.

Franco kernel helps where it can by UV~ing and what not.

Per app modes are useful too to save battery.

I'm pretty sure you'd see more sick standby times from other users around XDA.
Also helps to be in an area with good network (although this one cant really be helped sometimes), so that your phone doesn't constantly try to push more power to maintain the network reception.

Point in case : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52104683&postcount=12069

Even better his is with WiFi on.

not really...nexus is nexus because of software...not hardware...the nexus line rarely is at the forefront of hardware innovation and mostly for the rate that the software is updated....even if this One is using CM, it will still be slower than the stock nexus factory image rollout by google.....

Just would like to chip in as a 4 day old, first-time Nexus user..all my other Android phones before the N5 boasted top of the line specs and still I noticed that the performance still wasn't as snappy and responsive as I would have liked.

The first thing I noticed about pure Android is the buttery smooth performance. Everything is just so snappy and fast, transitions and typing etc. I don't think I will be using a non-Nexus device anytime soon.

Nice to see that man =D

It's really the bloat that other phones have, that make them lag.

But it's the bloat they have that offers more stuff as well.

yup....having a nexus devices is like a clear minded driver driving a Honda Civics

having a samsung device is like a drunk driving a ferrari...

based on pure specs of the car, the ferrari win the Honda hands down....

but we all know it's the driver and not the car that win the race.

Same thing as phone. It's the software and not the hardware.

Actually I m not doubting the beauty of pure vanilla nexus but after a while, I find it boring... i think is my problem, nothing seems to satisfy me cos i wish i can own everything, whether is iPhone or samsung or sony

samsung S4. b4 that was Z1, used less than 1 month n sold off. i dun change hp frequent, just cannot withstand the Z1's soft ear speaker. before Z1 was S2, still keeping it as spare phone with slimrom installed

not saying S4 is the perfect phone, just that nothing else seems to suit me, just me being fussy

On the comtrary for me, I find most of the "enhancements" offered by Samsung, Siny, HTC and the like to be more gimmicks and bloatware than anything. I almost never use them and my experience with previous non-Nexus devices to be less than satisfactory.

If there would to be one knock on the N5, I'd say that the batt life is indeed not that great. But to me, that's a minor tradeoff for the greatly enhanced Android experience.

actually sony IU not too bad, most app that comes with it can be uninstalled. i find the IU quite clean but added a little of their own touch so the taste not too bland. actually the weak battery is more or less the reason i stayed away from nexus, other than that it is a fine phone

Agree with you, having used the original Xperia Z and my current Z2 Tablet. Amongst the big companies, Sony messes with the stock Android UI the least. They have really upped their mobile tech game in the last couple of years.

I'm also still getting used to the significantly lower battery after coming from my G2.

On a side note, does anyone use any other app for watching YouTube videos other than the official app?

Interesting, will check if my friend faces such an issue with his Z1.

Why would you need any other app? Haha.

The default YouTube app doesn't play HD videos when it detects that you are on a 3G connection, and you can't "force" it to do so...

If I buy Nexus 5 from local shop or from local seller, will there be any warranty?
If yes, is the warranty claims the same when brought from google store directly?
Thanks.
