Using LTE on the N5 would drain it pretty fast. I'm currently disabling LTE on my N5 and yet I'm already yearning for better battery life.

I get your point..
read a few ccomments about the battery of n5.
probably not poor technology, just that it is smaller then most phones with 5' screens

I currently use a mi3, so in terms of specs it is v similar, just the LTE that I am lusting after

Don't think Nexus phones are suitable for everyone. I personally find stock android bland and lacking in features (not bloat! For e.g. battery level not even available in the status bar?!). Having said that, I would very much prefer the bland look as opposed to the clutter look spotted on other OEM firmwares (LG especially omg the clutter in the status bar!). If you enjoy tinkering your phone through flashing of mods, custom softwares etc, Nexus is superior.

Hardware-wise, Nexus 5's weak points are its battery and speakers.

thanks for the nice explanation!
I've never used a nexus before, and I don't have friends using any too..
but by bloatware I know what you mean..
the thing is that, I won't be flashing any custom ROMs as i m not a pro..
hmm

I did not flash any custom ROM, but did quite a number of tweaks via Gravity Box and am using a custom kernel. Am enjoying the N5 immensely. :)

If you want, I can meet you and let you have a feel of the phone.

For me I'm using stock N5. Jumping from a S4 sure it has lack of features. However, I do not use most of S4 features. I'd gladly take the N5 as it does not have as much bloatware resulting in a much faster and smoother experience. All I use my phone for is for Music/Browsing Web/Games.

can anyone advise how to get nexus 5? thanks

Either you source for one online (forum ads), which is preferable as prices tend to be lower, or you can try mobile shops which bro garychengjw recommended here.

My N5 is a second hand set which I bought via the hwz marketplace forums but the condition is excellent.

Thinking of changing from G2 to this bcos battery life and camera is really bad for me in 4.4.2. Any advice from the bros here?

I switched from the G2 to N5 2mths ago. If you intend to hop onto the N5 for batt life you might wish to reconsider. The G2's battery is better. Camera wise, I feel that the N5's is better.
