ART is not new~ should be incompatible with new android ~
Thats why i said "newer ART". Because the ART that came with Android L is more updated than the ART in Kitkat.
I have tried both in ART, apps that run fine in kitkat ART are crashing in Android L
Thanks man! All the data including contacts all that?
Sorry, but what is the meaning of flash arh?
I have managed to update to 4.4.4 already. It just somehow allow me to update.![]()
Yes, all data will be wiped, including your photos, mp3, files etc.
Backup everything first before trying.
Contacts should be sync-ed with Google contacts if you are not doing it yet.
Realized many ppl still store their contacts on their device only, because they don't know about storing as Google contact. Then when their phone is dead or missing, they start to whine about losing all their contacts.
If you don't know about flashing, I would strongly advice against attempting as you are not familiar and might ruin your phone.
But if you are willing to learn and adventurous, then I don mind assisting you.(as well as the other bros here)
You can start reading from here how to unlock your bootloader:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
[GUIDE] Nexus 5 - How to Unlock Bootloader, … | Google Nexus 5 | xda-developers
So some steps for you to follow:
1) Backup all data on your phone. You can backup app data using helium since you are not rooted.
2) Download Android L factory image
3) Follow the instructions on the developers link to download the SDK so that you can use ADB and fastboot
4) Restart phone in bootloader mode
5) Unlock bootloader
6) restart phone in bootloader mode again
7) flash Android L factory image
8) Enjoy
You can revert back to Kitkat by flashing the kitkat factory images.
You can always relock the bootloader, so that the warranty is honoured.
Lastly, there are many guides online to do this. just google
