Hi, anyone having the phone kept on restarting randomly? Sometime it work then suddenly it just restart. I note that on few occasion, when I press the power button, it will restart it self. While it is restarting, where u see the 4 circles merge together, it will restart itself again for quite a few times, if not forever...... till I press the power button again.....

Now wiping the cache using the recovery....

Anyone can advise?

best is to:

once booted up, backup everything as much as you can. fully clean flash new ROM.

Unpleasant experience at BreakFixNow

Just had an rather unpleasant experience at this particular repair shop. Saw some bros here recommended breakfixnow so I sent my water-damaged Nexus 5 to them. I was adamant that other than the emmc memory, I was willing to fix/replace any parts. Was told the diagnosis would take half an hour but eventually extended to 1-2 days. When I went down to collect, the man in charge was searching high and low for my phone. I thought they had misplaced it but alas, he found the parts but needed half an hour to reassemble. He then informed me it was beyond repair. However when I returned, he said it was fixed but they had to replace the memory chip. The only reason I was repairing this device was to recover the pictures and data inside. He willingly gave me a discount of $30 and wanted to charge me for $120. I politely declined to pay for it and after some to and fro, he agreed to change back the old memory chip and called it even. Then came another 20 mins wait before I finally got back my phone feeling kind of letdown. It seemed to be just another unfruitful event, but when I got home and unscrewed out the backplate and motherboard to take a closer look, the real shocker began to reveal itself. The nfc/wireless charging parts and a metallic protective shield covering the cpu on the motherboard is missing!

It could be just a haphazard mistake but I am too tired to pursue further. Will leave it and this recounting as it is while waiting eagerly for the Nexus 6.

20min to reassemble everything back is the problem. Easy to overlook some parts to put back in.

But that also depends on how stripped down they disassemble the phone

Having the same issue, have you resolved it. Likely to be the power button issue if even re flash doesn't work. I have done some research and haven't found any quick fix might need to go in for major overhaul

I reset my phone to factory and still having the problem. Definitely to be hardware issue. I even opened up to phone and it seem the component is part of the main board so I doubt I be able to repair on my own.

As long as I dun use the power button, it wont have the restart issue. Using those apps that wake the phone by other method (eg gravity screen / something similar).

If you sent your phone to repair, can PM me the address and the price? I am not so willing to upgrade to N6 yet. Usually I use my phone for 2 or more years before upgrade.:D And the N6 will only have 1 power button so I am not so sure if I should upgrade to that or get Note 4.....

Guys anyone experience such issue.

Phone is on wifi, once i leave home, it'll auto switch to mobile network. Although it's shown as connected, but when you try to surf net etc, it can't connect. I didn't wait long enough for it to resolve, so toggled between airplane mode which fixed the issue.
