Yup, agreed, batt is the main issue for N5. I am one of those ppl who are still using it as my primary daily driver, accompanied by OPO as my secondary (switched from my HTC One M7, which has become my third device).

Is nexus 5 still worth it in 2015?

I got a Galaxy S6 a couple of weeks ago but still have my 18 months old Nexus 5. Frankly, apart from a marginally bigger screen (gorgeous screen though and much better camera (I am not a camera buff though), the N5 is just as good or even better (some aspects eg. smoothness) than the S6.

I am not sure whether I will keep the S6; maybe I will keep it till the rumoured N5 successor comes out. :)

I'm currently using an iPhone 5S.. Battery is **** as well. Getting bored of the iPhone, seems so overpriced. I'm actually well versed in terms of Android and iOS, used a lot of android devices in the past as well. Thought of going back to Android and the first thing I've thought of is the nexus 5.. Stock android ftw haha..

Yeah.. The battery life is really my main gripe with the Nexus 5.

I can only get 2.5hrs of screen time on Nexus 5... Can't even last a day.

Battery life was very decent with 4.4. Once I upgraded to 5.x it was noticeably worse.

My uninformed guess would be to check your power button? is it stucK? Has it been working properly? If power button no issues, try seeing if you can boot into bootloader? If can flash stock images again and see how.

Can't even boot into bootloader ,the second I'm in bootloader it straight away restart ....and back to Google again ....over and over again ...

Went to a shop ,was qouted 180 and he said it's most lightly the motherboard need to be change ....

Just had an rather unpleasant experience at this particular repair shop. Saw some bros here recommended breakfixnow so I sent my water-damaged Nexus 5 to them. I was adamant that other than the emmc memory, I was willing to fix/replace any parts. Was told the diagnosis would take half an hour but eventually extended to 1-2 days. When I went down to collect, the man in charge was searching high and low for my phone. I thought they had misplaced it but alas, he found the parts but needed half an hour to reassemble. He then informed me it was beyond repair. However when I returned, he said it was fixed but they had to replace the memory chip. The only reason I was repairing this device was to recover the pictures and data inside. He willingly gave me a discount of $30 and wanted to charge me for $120. I politely declined to pay for it and after some to and fro, he agreed to change back the old memory chip and called it even. Then came another 20 mins wait before I finally got back my phone feeling kind of letdown. It seemed to be just another unfruitful event, but when I got home and unscrewed out the backplate and motherboard to take a closer look, the real shocker began to reveal itself. The nfc/wireless charging parts and a metallic protective shield covering the cpu on the motherboard is missing!

It could be just a haphazard mistake but I am too tired to pursue further. Will leave it and this recounting as it is while waiting eagerly for the Nexus 6.

Regret never read your bad experience about breakfixnow. I also had a very BAD experience there with my water damaged iphone. Send in an exterior-flawless iphone to repair. They said needed 3-4 days to fix but dragged until almost 2 weeks.
Drag but fixed ok BUT they came back to inform me phone beyond repair. Ok, here's the thing. cannot repair never mind, they added scratches and a cracked screen to my phone! LIKE WTF. Totally INCOMPETENT and no respect paid even if they think it's beyond repair. They have no rights to treat the "dead" phone like trash.
How would I know what else has been done internally? When I argued that they replace the screen for me, they only paid lip service and did a hastily lousy job by replacing the original cracked screen with another screen that has rashes at the edges that didn't fit properly with the shell, telling me that they already gave me a "discount for not charging me labour". Well, isn't that the original clause?
I sacrificed my trust with their shop and in the end got away with more than a phone in a worse plight. I decided to leave the shop as I wouldn't want to waste any more time with them.
To all ppl out there, please AVOID breakfixnow like a plague. Unethical bunch!

we should have a thread for people to share their experience of the services they are rendered in mobile shops, especially black biz practices...hence the list of black mobile phone shops should be compiled for people to be aware of.

I too had a bad experience with b*f*n*. Went to them because I read Web reviews on how happy some customers were.

Send my Nexus 5 with cracked screen for replacement. Was charged $160. Got back in half hour, but was shocked to see excess glue sticking out around the entire edge of screen. I didn't complain - thought it was a small inconvenience to pay quick service. Had to find various ways to clean off glue when I got home. Then discovered edge of phone housing got tools marks. Apparently the guy didn't use plastic tools to open up my phone.

A week later, screen went crazy. Flashing, inverted, etc. After a few days it died. Didn't want to go back to b*f*n* as chances are they will blame other faulty parts, and charge more, and I will still get shoddy service.

Wanted to throw away the phone. Then decided, since I got nothing to lose, ordered entire screen-housing set from Ebay. $60. Came a few weeks later, DIY and everything worked fine.

Lesson learned - don't readily believe everything you read on the Web.
