Cause I saw quite lots of people in XDA mention that they have issue with Whatsapp on ART

I was on Franco kernel r16, stock ROM and TWRP 2.6.3.2.
I flashed back to stock kernel and tried to flash the OTA zip file from TWRP, but it failed.

Anybody knows why?
The phone still boots up as per normal.

Flash stock kernel,flash stock rom, factory reset, then flash twrp and flash 4.4.1 and flash supersu to get back root

did you root? if not unroot it. there has been many weird error reports on latest few TWRP recovery edition. i advise you to use CWM recovery, i have no problem with it.

Yes mine is rooted.
I installed CWM Recovery v6.0.4.5 and tried flashing the KOT49E zip file but it said Error in the zip file (Status 7), Installation aborted.

Anybody can help ?
Can I update to 4.4.1 without doing factory reset ?

apply the OTA by CWM or TWRP. remember flash the updated supersu.zip to reroot.

i switched to ART after updated to 4.4.1, but stucked at boot loop. lucky have my nandroid backup on hand.

Anyone know where I can find the baseband file for 4.4.1?

I decide to flash this custom rom (Stock with root and busybox):
[ROM][STOCK] Android 4.4.1 KOT49E - Rooted/Busybox/Odexed (12/6/13) - xda-developers

But their rom never included the lg-d821 baseband file for 4.4.1. (My phone still use the original baseband file). I don't dare to flash the lg-d820 version they uploaded.

Flashing them is equivalent to a factory reset right ?

it is not factory reset, all apps and setting retained.
