whats the purpose of unlocking bootloader and rooting?
Both allow you modify the phone's software. The default software that shipped with your phone is good, but there are people, like on xda-developers, who make it better.

you must slowly play. you're missing the fun and the purpose of the nexus if u buy and dunno how to unlock bootloader and root lol ..

to update custom rom, you usually just flash over unless stated need wipe and install!

Beyound this, you can backup your entire phone. You can also easily backup the apps settings

i'm disappointed at the:

- yellowish screen
- no battery % display
- no screen rotation toggle in Quick Settings (and other settings)
- Lockscreen and mainscreen share same wallpaper
