intermittent signal drops

Hi,

I'm a new user of Nexus5 32GB (AU version) and i'm experiencing intermittent signal drops, even when i'm at home. The signal can drop while phone is idle or when i toggle from Wifi to mobile data. I'm using Singtel 4G prepaid. Does anyone else encounter this problem?

I believe this is not the phone's problem but Singtel. I've been experiencing several missed calls when i'm at home, on 4G. They asked me to change to 3G manually because 4G "is meant for data". I screwed them upside down with their suggestion - apparently when you're on 4G, in certain areas the network cannot switch to 3G fast enough when there's an incoming call, resulting in a missed call.

Singtel is getting lousier and less reliable. With them for more than 15 years.

Don't have. Just buy it.

I am on stock rom 4.4 and custom kenel. Does flashing purity rom 4.4.2 or catalysm rom 4.4.2 wipe my internal memory and user data?

Internal memory no. User data maybe. Some roms make too many changes for user data to transfer over without problem.

Nope, on stock rom. Just basically on Lux and Widgetlocker, that's all.

Hmm no such problem... I suggest you factory reset before using

Try use without widget locker before that

Then I will need to re-configure everything again. Widgetlocker causing all these?

After using nexus series of phones , you will have hard to quit withdrawal symptom ,hard to accept other OEM skinned phone again..


An old story..while my colleague purchased a Samsung galaxy S4 after using Nexus 4 for half a year..he was excited and did open box and started to explore the S4 during lunch time..within 15 min, i saw his mood swing..making comment of gimmick features overload...I told me to use the phone longer time..he did and after one more day of trying..he just gave up and handed over the S4 to wifey and continue to use Nexus 4.

Now Nexus 5 camera has been greatly improved compared to Nexus 4, well this was the only shortcoming on Nexus 4 that i really dont like (slow shutter speed, no zero lag shutter..hard to capture the moving objects)..the experience is only getting better .

Specifically:- alarm clock set to have sound but timer only vibrate
