Fact is, XS with ICS will win a lot of people heart due to marketing. Many have stated before, XS launch with ICS will def improve the sales of sony handsets and the contiune usage of GB does fence off people from buying simply because, GB is not the "latest".

Yes. Like xperiablog reported, xs are selling like hotcakes in UK. The screen itself is a very good selling point. Plus the fact that it is really nice to read very fine words without zooming in the webpages most of the time. For most non-geek users, ICS is just a bonus although sony did not deliver ICS earlier.

what they did is just replace the screen... literally. they did not come up with the solution how to block the heat from the battery, circuit boards to affect the back of the screen.. im thinking of spraying a single coat of heat-resistant paint at the back of the screen panel when i got my screen replaced.

If you DIY, wouldn't it void your warranty?

Stocks were low what... imagine they just have 1000 sets to go ard, of cos it will create a sell out scene..

Stocks were definitely low compared to other phones, people were still reporting its selling well in EU countries. Unlike the sunny island of fruit. :D

No, I'm not gonna send it in again in a hurry based on the fact that it took 18 days for them during the recent repair. But the service center did mention that I have to go back there within a month if the same problem resurfaces.

If they replace the screen again without properly solving the issue, it's a LOSE-LOSE situation between SONY and me. :(
If replacing the screen doesn't resolve the issue, they need work on the root cause of it.
That's almost 3 weeks, a great inconvenience without it

Will that work?

Above is the photo of the yellow tint on my repaired handset. Unfortunately I didn't catch the warmest temperature and I'm still noob with my DSLR and was finding my memory card. :D

Anyway, am I being too sensitive or can it be considered as Yellow Tint? To say it started to appear this much only after 2 days of return from the service center, I find it a bit alarming for the future of Xperia S series.

Do you agree?

it will, than having yellow patches all the way.. i can diy my stuffs, but for now, aim for that free screen panel replacement part, then im good to go.

What if the screen unit itself produces excessive amount of heat on its own? If it's the case, you're blocking one whole side of surface area through which some heat could have gone dissipated. But this theory of mine is not very realistic considering the fact that the circuit-board and the battery are the components that should produce more heat than the screen.

My replacement screen is similar to yours. At least now is gradual yellow tint, not like one patch before change.
