ICS coming soon to XS!

Xperia Blog said:
The last official word we heard from Sony Mobile on the Xperia S Android 4.0 ICS launch date was “from the later part of the second quarter”. However, a support person over at the Talk Sony Mobile forums is narrowing this down a bit.

“Xperia S is planned to get ICS somewhere around late May/early June. That’s what’s been said and that’s still what we’re sticking to,” said Markus from Xperia support. This could mean that in just under three weeks we will start to see Ice Cream Sandwich land on Xperia S handsets. We can’t wait.

ok so the newer LCD looks yellowish when comparing to the galaxy tab 10.1 and the older LCD screen. But when u never compare, it looks quite white. Can it be the glue used to glue the LCD?

What is your brightness setting? It will go yellow when it is darker but whiter when it is brighter.

Yellowish screen happens to most handsets out there beside Sony. Most famous one is apple Iphone.

I am not sure about the brightness. However, I don't look yellowish when you never compare with another white. I test using the *#*#SERVICE#*#*

Hi !

Just collected by phone from J8 for the yellow tint issue. I had backed up my phone before sending it in.

Now, when i tried to restore from PC Companion, the restore failed for:

- Contacts & Call Log
- Text Messages
- Bookmarks
- Settings
- Other

Any ideas how to resolve it?

Thanks!

I also got the same issue :(

I've read somewhere that the restore function in PC Companion doesn't work at all. Anyways, perhaps you can have a look here:

How to resolve Restore Fails...

I also got the same issue :(

Hi !

Found the answer here:
Main: XPERIA S - COULD NOT RESTORE CONTACTS AND SMS THROUGH PC COMPANION - SOLUTION PLZZ

To elaborate my experience:

1) Go to Documents and Settings\Roderick Low\My Documents\Sony\Sony PC Companion\Phone backups

2) Copy your latest .dbk file to somewhere first.

3) Rename your .dbk to .zip

4) Open the renamed .zip file

5) Remove the "Files" folder

6) Rename it back to .dbk

7) Launch PC Companion

8) THIS IS IMPORTANT: Run Backup of your phone and select "Settings" only.

9) Restore your modified .dbk file

This will restore your contacts, but not your downloaded applications though.

Good luck !

I changed from xperia mini pro, which has a white that is white and not yellow like Xperia S.
But after a few days of using, the screen became whiter. lol. Dunno if its my eyes playing on me

Pls help. Thanks in advance!

so sad, the display is more yellowish and inferior to the previous screen. When comparing on the same video of a 1080 full hd video on two xperia s, its not as good as the original screen. Basically, i think they make the replacement lcd more yellowish to hide the yellow tint (my thought). Gonna call up again to replace. I brought xperia s for the display and they totally ruin it ><

The replacement screen suppose to fix the yellow patch issue...no amount of yellowish screen can hide that patch.

LOL

now alot of screens have this yellowish tint, which apparently they say is "warmer" and brings out vivid colours. i think it is just a loadfull of bullsheet cos my Arc is beautiful without the warm screen.

there is no need to make the screen yellowish to hide the patches, cos when you have the patches, it is damn obvious.

What i do is i use the app to make it "cooler" by adjusting the blue
