Just let the battery "break-in" first. After 1-2 weeks the battery life will improve. Don't waste your time with battery saver apps and similar nonsense.

Convert user to android is still quite easy.. convert them to change to xperia s is more difficult..

Most of my female friends are not tech savvy and all they know is iPhone. I demoed my Sony Ericsson to them and I ended up buying 4 Sony Ericsson phones on their behalf just last month, haha. Some are first time smartphone users and some own an iPhone and wanted to try something different. In fact, they don't even know what Android is, haha.

Just got the phone. :s12:

Went to a Hello shop to get the phone. The first set which the customer service person opened apparently had some problem coz it couldn't read the microsim. We tested the microsim with another phone and it worked.

Opened another set and there was still a problem (turned out that 3G network was down) with the connection to Singtel so they gave me another one. :o So in total 3 sets were opened and I brought one out of the store. :s22:

Traded in a galaxy s phone which was root and they didnt check the os.

Usually the telco shops dont really check too much on your trade-in phone. As long as the phone is not in bad shape (physically) & still works, they will take it together with the charger.

GS to XS is a big leap! :D

The first couple of weeks the phone battery sucks is also due to playing too much contacts, sms, messenger, emails, restoring backups, installing apps, blah blah blah etc. :D

It have to depend on how the software make use of the available cores. End of the day, coding to take advantage of the available core, else, it will still perform like a single core.

Better as in what? Overall performance? Display? Camera??

XS is already reaching the edge of current chipset limit.

In benchmarks, a cortex-A15 dual core Qualcomm snapdragon S4(Krait) in a prototype handset has beaten the cortex-A9 Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core in a retail handset. Sony knows that 2 cortex A15 cores are faster than 4 cortex A9 cores and future phones this year will still be dual cores but sould be A15 cores. Wise move Sony.

XS using S4 chip? No right?

Sorry, I was referring to the Mint or Hayabusa or the next Sony super phone. It surely won't be a quad core and being a dual core its only logical they go with the S4 given their past preference for Qualcomm chips.

just saw the Xperia S at IT show. Quite a lot of people were buying it when I was there. A little disappointed that the phone is a bit thick :(, but it is very nice other than that.
Would be nice if it is more sexy like Arc

Sony got other option - ST-Ericsson chips, found in xp & xu.
