Tried again still fail..The steps i used are as follows :

1. Use the usb cable to link the phone (with power on) to PC
2. Launch PC companion, showing there is an available update for the phone
3. Click update
4. Start to show "checking computer for update"
5. Phone auto off by itself
6. Now show "checking phone for update"
7. Device software driver cannot be installed
8 . Follow the following steps to get the phone for update
9. disconnect the usb cable from phone and PC, make sure battery life more than 50%,switch off the phone and wait for 5sec (BUT MY PHONE IS ALREADY OFF when under step 5 - auto off)
10. Connect USB cable to computer
11. Press and hold vol down button key on the phone while plugging the usb cable into phone
12. After a while (like 15 sec) - still show msg device driver software not installed - due to device unplugged..

Did i miss out any steps ? The first update was ok but not this one..
Kindly assist..

Try on another pc. If still cannot then better go down service centre and ask them to update for you. Takes ard 2 hrs.

A strange observation about "Android System".

When data is on (e.g., Wifi on), android system use 4% of battery and was awake for 8 minutes for the past 4 hours on time.

When data is off (wifi off, mobile data off), android system use about 40-50% of battery, and awake for more than half of on time, like 2 hours awake for 4 hours on time.

All other settings remain unchanged, regardless auto-sync on or off.

it u want to off data try reboot phone first then off data and use it over nite and see if its improve

Have tried that before, no success. Have also tried to repair phone using both *** and SUS. Have tried reset a few times (clear settings only or clear everything). So far could not figure out what is happening inside once data is off.

One thing I notice from log is that I got lots of error messages related to libhdmi. example like:

hdmi_fsm_event_fail: called in invalid state

libhdmi: hdmi_com_disconnected...


But I never use HDMI...

since this is the latest and flagship model from sony?
am i slow?

will there be a new flagship model coming up soon?

how is the battery life of the phone? anyone can share?

Sony Xperia GX officially announced, the new Sony flagship has 13MP "stacked" sensor and no front buttons

but this xperia GX is Lt29

the more or less latest news there is a new model call Lt30
for the intl market

i migrated from X10 to XS...

battery life is charge 1X a day ...


speed is faster and menu flow is smoother compared to X10 of course...

Battery life on smartphone is HIT and MISS type. It's either you have a set that has good battery life or dun.

is there a way to check what prog is causing the screen to turn on?

Also noticed that after the update I seemed to be getting more accidental unlocks of the screen. Maybe because it's now that little bit easier to unlock (slide one side regular unlock, other side unlock to camera)?

Also twice now the music player fire itself off in my pocket. First time I still thinking eh the guy in the toilet cubicle have the same taste in music as me. -_-

Yes. I used Screen Off and Lock app previously to turn off screen with one touch. I noticed that whenever I turn on the function 'Delay device locking', the screen will occasionally turn back on itself after I turn it off.

In short, do not allow any apps or features to 'delay device locking', if you do not want to have such problems.

Remembering my music (from phone) blasted loudly by itself when I was queuing for ATM, but it was not xs at that time.

Help yourself by using sound profile apps. Turn off media sounds for normal profile & switch profile to turn on media sounds when you want to play music or games.

used another Pc, finally works.
But after update - cannot set lock screen wallpaper diff from home screen wallpaper. Also cannot watch online video (e.g. from tudou) except youtube..
Anyone got this issue?

I can set a different lock screen wallpaper. Haven't really tried watching videos online apart from youtube.
