Different bands have different reach, means better coverage. Band 8 for singtel is more for within buildings if I remember correctly, I might be wrong.

something to do with capacity n indoor/outdoor penetration

coverage is right not reception

but the science of it is alien to me

so more bands mean better coverage in a big country like usa or china

in singapore or even malaysia...does not matter

higher band means more capacity, bandwidth n better outdoor coverage

band 8 used by singtel is good as since only singtel is using it here, capacity is more than enough
