Hi. Im considering getting the OP3T to replace my ageing N6P.

Would like to confirm if I do get the A3010 set on Oxygen OS, I can get OTA updates using the VPN method without having to wipe my phone data?

Just worried about having to constantly sideload updates.

And apologies if this has been asked before but I have been reading pages but still not sure.

VPN confirm can get OTA. Jus backup your data if u worry, or I would think its a good practice. All my data is stored in GDrive, so I'm always flashing the full zip.

Do note that if u using Beta, the OTA is Beta, not official.

I successfully update i think..
Coz i have android 7.0 now...

Downloaded the 3T file..moved to main storage... And go to manual update....

There is no need to sideload using oneplus. Update files can be installed through stock recovery, i.e., download the zip file, install in recovery.

VPN is also not needed, use the method above.

i downloaded a zip file as well.. and go to local upgrade option...
i dunno if its correct... but after everything i already have Android 7
i forgot the oxygen os version... will check later..

planning to reset the phone before passing it to my brother..
will it go back to hydrogen os? coz my set is china but preloaded by oxygen by the seller...

Well, if it was updated successfully to the intended version then I would say it was correct. No, resetting phone won't revert it to H2OS. However, you may want to reset it properly before giving it to your bro to avoid android security to be triggered, i.e., remove all your Google accounts before the reset.

Final questions though:
Will AndroidPay have issues with all these roms on the OP3T (A3010)?
Im asking coz I do use AndroidPay a lot coming from N6P.

And also are all fingerprint services working well? E.g. DBS, Paypal etc

As long as you stick with official OxygenOS, i.e., official & certified ROMs, I don't see any reason why android pay wouldn't work.

I believe oneplus is also using the same implementation as Nexus imprint, hence not seeing any issues, unless oneplus screws up.

AndroidPay works fine on stock rom. DBS banking app also can use the fingerprint
