hi guys,

would like to ask. basically part of my job is android app developer so i would prefer to get a phone that near stock rom or one that has unlocked bootloader so that i can flash different roms/root phone. should i wait for pixel 2 or just buy the op5??

besides developing, i would also want to use as daily driver. i saw news about few issues with op5 such as jelly scrolling but i dont really care about those. is op5 camera that good and also suffering from any touch latency? because pixel touch latency is good and camera up there

Another test of the Google Camera vs. OnePlus 5 stock camera app.

OPvsG.jpg

Top right is Google Camera, Bottom Left is OP5. This is a 100% crop. The Google Camera output looks like it has lots of banding / extra polka dots on the walls.

Can't compare pixel 2 with op5. Price wise pixel 2 is not going to be cheap. Pixel 2 is not out yet so make it even harder to compare lol. No one knows how it will perform. U already mentioned pixel camera is up there so better for you to wait for pixel 2 then. If camera performance is high up on your priority list.

hi,

i saw the leaks on pixel 2, specifially the XL version. it's gonna be 18:9 screen like s8 and i'm pretty sure it will perform as good as pixel. actually, seeing how good op5 camera is, i dont think i am very particular with pixel 2 camera. both are good.

hmmm, well the thing is i have to wait until oct for pixel 2 release.

have tested the google cam today, seems to be better suited in low light environment, if use with good lighting, a lot of dots and banding ... :s13: but nevertheless, at least now low light got a camera app to deal with it, im getting very good results in low light as compared to the default cam and it's free anyway ..... cannot hiam alr la :s13:

Since u mentioned u are android app developer, waiting for it will ensure u will get the latest official android rollout fastest. Assuming u need ur phone to help in ur work.

For me, I'm looking for a phone that is smooth n lag free over time n reasonably priced. So oneplus fits the bill.

Just noticed that OnePlus 5 on Circles.Life also got 4G+, by virtue of M1. Saw the 4G+ logo between Raffles Place and City Hall MRT stations.

Yes... and it's quite buggy on my phone.

When you touch to focus, it gets stuck and you can't take any photos until you close and restart the app

touch to focus is not working on the modded camera .apk at the moment, just let it auto focus and take the shot.

in well lit environment, if u use the HDR+, it will have dots and bandings in ur picture, the real magic of the HDR+ comes when ur using it in low light shot, OH BABY, THAT MAGIC IS REAL :s13:
