Then what is the volts for ah?

Potential difference lor. Of cos the quality of cable, resistivity and the electrical properties matter. But when you buy cable, look out for those with higher amperage rating. If u go for lower ones, likely the resistance is high and the charger will still push at 10V, but current might be lower by alot due to the fact resistance is high, if u using the adaptive fast charger.

But if that's the case the amperage is low, having 10V would be useless isn't it? So far 2.4A is highest for phone/tablet right? Yeah, i always look for one with 2.1A or 2.4A.

This cable i bought say can tahan up to 3A lol. Not sure ******** or not but so far charging by PC gives me about 1100mA, which my previous one only manage 550mA.

Since we talking about quality of charging cables, I've few readings to share.
Dun trust these nos though, its from an 'uncalibrated' cheapo mini usb meter!

(A) Note 5 original White cable
Normal 5.11V x 0.86A
Fast 8.93V x 1.62A

(B) Yellow Flat Cable
Normal 5.05V x 1.62A
Fast 8.83V x 1.62A

(C) Antique Nokia Cable
Normal 5.10V x 1.05A
Fast 8.95V x 1.64A

Power (watts) = current x voltage, more power = faster charging.
My original cable can only pump 0.86A during normal charging. The yellow flat 1.6A will probably be almost twice as fast.
For Fast charging at higher voltage, seems like it doesn't really matters which cable.
The samsung charger has a marking that says 9V x 1.67A, this is probably as fast as it can get liao?

I assume it's USB 3.0. U go calculate the wattage lor. 5V x 0.55 has higher power or 5V x1.1 has higher power.

P=VI, but if you integrate time into the equation, e/t=p
VIt/t=p

Therefore power is the energy delivered per unit time. So the higher the power, the faster you charge.

Hmmm, if a normal microUSB head is a USB 3.0, why in the first place they make that Note 3 USB 3.0 with such a large head? haha.

What calculation, if i know how to calculate i won't be asking here le :s22::s13:

I guess so but i disabled the Fast Charge. So now i'm just doing normal charging and all these different quality cable actually matter. I dun really miss fast charge though unless i'm in that much of a rush, which is hardly the case.

hhmm.. my note5 batt is getting from bad to worse.. Nowadays just average usage (without Youtube).

Just line and fb and some light browsing and there are days i need to charge twice a day.

Mine was gotten at Note 5 Launch. Wonder how is batt life fairing for other note users.

Mine also launch. Still can last a day or 2 if i don't touch it much. I think only way for you to know is u reset and then see if your battery is solid when there's nothing much on it and that standby time can still last you over 1 day.

The other day mine wasn't touch a lot, SOT was about 1hr 15mins with 34hrs standby and 20% left. I have about 250 apps installed with quite a few background running apps, wifi on and location always on.

same here, nowadays try to avoid Fast Charge and phone feels much cooler.
ya only recently then realize cables can significantly impact normal charging speed:s13:
probably any 2.4A rated cables shld do .. am getting around 1.7-1.8A even when use with rated 5V/2.4A AUKEY charger.
But my Choetech one lousy, can only pump max 1.5A!#@! so, charger also matters.
btw where u get the 3A cable, scarly can pump more than 2A? hmmmmmm i want!

From Aliexpress. I'm not using it with charger and haven't tested yet but this is the only cable that charge above 1100ma using USB port with a convertor i have that can double the charging power from USB port.

As i said before the cable itself is a little rigid like a wire that you can shape. It's braided though. Overall, it's a solid feel on the cable and i like it rigid in a way so it won't tangle haha.

The Choetech one you talking about is the cable or the charger?

leave house full charge. reach office by lunch maybe left 70. maybe 4pm thereabouts charge again to 100%. leave office at 6.30-7 then go home at 10pm, left 50 to 40%.

so i charge it twice. use IG, forum browsing, some FB, chat apps. No videos browsing. I consider this to be bad batt life compared to when it was all shiny and new. :(

if you think your batt got problem, maybe can take it to service centre or if there is samsung road show at orchard, they also can check for you.

My friend's S7 she said also bad battery. She said it's mostly standby but she has to charge twice a day. If like mine mostly standby, it should last over 1 day. Somemore i got way more stuff running than her, more syncing, phone is bought longer and i think the SoC is more power efficient?

so by right my battery should be worse but it's not so it's likely her settings or her battery has issue. Even when she bought her phone first month, she said her battery wasn't good, which shouldn't be the case since it's also 3000 mah. Back then we dun even have doze and the battery manager but our battery during launch was amazing.

Looks like Android Nougat need to arrive sooner and hopefully the OS is also more friendly on the battery on top of the new doze.

Yup my Note 5 batt is pretty bad now compared to when I first got it.. Marshmallow made standby better ONLY when u put it stationary on a desk.

Most times its in my pocket.

And when I use it I see battery drop like a mutha.

Got my Mi5 64gb for less than $500 as my stop gap phone while waiting for note 7.

Gonna sell off my Note 5 in the meantime before prices drop.

Just a side note, sd820 processor runs so much cooler than note 5, and it's definitely snappier even tho Mi5 has 3gb vs note 5 4gb

But depends on usage also, my phone don't touch but i have things that i will let it periodically update so it's not completely no activity. But i usually let those activity update like 2hrs or so depending on urgency so the phone can at least go into deep sleep.
