Is Saphir Renovateur a all-in-one cream? Does it clean, shine and waterproof at the same time, or do you need to use other products with it?

It is more for nourishing and cleaning the leather. Not much of shine and certainly no waterproofing.

I highly doubt there is any product that does all three. A bit lazy of u to want that as well, if u were to ask me. Each function kinda interferes with the other. So i would think if the product does one thing well, it sucks at something else.

I think you misunderstand. I asked because I really haven't a clue what it does. The descriptions on the website aren't very helpful either.

Seeing as it is a product that is highly touted here I thought to clarify what it specifically does.

Dont really blame u as online literature is generally singing praises of the renovateur though my earlier comments are grounded on personal experience.

Renovateur is used to remove excess wax and creams plus it contains conditioning ingredients. It will have a matte effect on leather. If you wish to imbue more colors, use cream. If you wish to shine it, use wax. Use it in that order.

There is nothing magical about the Renovateur that you can't do with lexol. As it name suggests, it is used to "renovate" your shoes so you can start over with cream and wax.

So Renovatuer shouldn't be used on a weekly basis? My current weekly regime consists of foaming shoe cleanser, pigmented cream, and waterproofing spray.
Is this correct, or should I be doing something differently/better?

I'm not too hardcore on shoe care, and would simply like to ensure my shoes are receiving decent treatment. I don't mind sending my shoes to a vendor for TLC if needed, any suggestions on who to approach and how often I should do so?

Foam cleansers, because I'm lazy and they're easy to use! Same with waterproofing sprays. Good to hear that what I'm doing is not too far off what's right.

Shoe Shine Regime

Hi, need help on getting a mirror shine. I've been trying to follow the shoe snob's video on youtube but can't seem to get the effect to appear on my new brown Meermin captoe oxford from the classic line. Tried twice over 2 weeks already. It's lustrous yes, but definitely not mirror!

Using all saphir products with a no-name horseshoe brush, kiwi polishing brush and a cut-up old t-shirt. I'm following Justin's steps religiously but I don't have time to sit down for a few straight hours just polishing shoes so I usually break the routine down. Do 1 step finish, put the shoes down for a few hours to tend to chores before I come back, quick brush to remove dust and proceed on next step.

I don't know if I'm using the right amount of polish though. Each time I only merely dab at the polish (cloth only gets a light dusting of brown) which seems to me sufficient for an area equivalent to the toe cap only. Too little or too much??

If anyone can share a more sure regime to get the mirror shine or spot what I've been doing wrong above, TIA!

I am not sure what your foaming shoe cleanser does. It might not be good for leather on a weekly basis.

You don't need waterproofing spray on leather, might actually be bad for leather since I think the nano waterproof particles might seal up the leather pores and make the leather no so breathable.

You can look for PetiaC, he does an amazing job to clean and shine my cordovan shell.

The waterproofing apparently doesn't affect breathability. Not sure if the cleanser is too harsh though?

Should I alter my weekly regime to just brush and pigmented shoecream instead? Cleabser and waterproofing on a monthly frequency?

hi all, i noticed faint cracks on my patent leather heels which are a neon colour. does anyone know if mink oil can be used on coloured patent leather as i read that it darkens colours? if not, are there any alternatives? (i usually use dicon leather care cream http://www.jaspe.com.sg/laboratories/leather-care-range/diconr-professional-leather-cleaner.html, would that be good enough?)
