Nope. The thinner ones. I perspire alot so it will always slide down a little + i work at hot environment, doesn't make it any better. I google search, got those silicon pad can stick, does it really help? If really no use, maybe i make another set. From what i check with my friends, they say my frame thin, not possible to drill those nose pegs.
Bro, don't waste time with the silicon pad. It won't last long at all given your kind of work environment and tendency to perspire. Best to make another set of spectacles and save all the hassle.

Oh you can come down to eyewear optics at Thomson Plaza(central) or maybe jamco at Katong mall(east)? Both quite good with their prices for lindberg.

U have not replied which shop you are located. Thomson plaza eyewear optics or jamco katong mall?

Went to thomson plaza one last year but didnt find what i was looking for. Quite disappointed. Maybe the economy not that great. Shops dont dare take too many atas spectacle frames now. Scared cant sell or slow moving.

What's your definition of atas frame? E.g. Cartier, Prada or Lindberg/icber/starck?

Hi guys, is it cheaper to get your lens from JB ? And what are the good quality lens?

Sent from HUAWEI VNS-L31 using GAGT

Glass offers the best quality, but it can break more easily compared to plastic. The next best material is your cr-39 polymer, but it is one of the thicker plastics so for those with high dioptres, it will not look good.

Ask for 1.6 index with 42 abbe value if you want high index

If you have loads of money, go for those custom made freeform lens.

Many branded stock lens are made from the same factory in thailand

Your astigmatism very high?
Get crizal or even non branded len if you want to save cost. Request for discount, normally they will knock at least 10% off rrp

went to queensway...ask for hoya, crizal
but
notice the price difference is about $100-$150 difference.
not really alot.

One even commented if buy HOYA lens now...have free upgrading.
HOYA have what business , economy range glasses.

So if take 1.67, $1000 with 20% discount ...is about $800!

but when asked how would i know the lens been "upgraded" to next class?
the shop owner just briefly say...they won't cheat.

Don't worry , you can always ask for authenticity card and also ask them to show you the lens engraving and counter check with the price chart Hoya provides for customer.
You should be shown what you bought if you requested

For the very near wordings is it something you need to see for Long hours? Because if it's for short period of time, you can consider using the old one. You have already given the new one quite abit of time to try so I think when the shop open go check again with them...is it a significant increase in the reading power for you?

I am wearing back the old ones at the moment.

Went back to the shop to check yesterday and retake the test. Everything seems like the same, except that she says previously she inserted a prism for my left eyes lens but took away for this current one. She handed me a round lens and asked me to hold it infront of my new specs and sees whether there is any difference or not. It seems like it is better as the wording became more focus with both eyes open.:s11:

Yeap. I can attest to that. Highly dependent on the skills of the one adjusting. I slept on mine(lol) and my experienced colleague help me adjust Til as good as New. I still learning on adjusting Lindbergs.
Btw not just horn, acetaniums also can cause they are similar..

Can horn temples be adjusted and stay in shape?

Not sure if this works. The damage temple was the right side. After adjustment, looks fine. My ear one high one Low thus from the picture you can see the legs are not symmetrical.

Wa steady leh lindberg horn not many places selling. My ear same as you right side lower but i dont like to adjust temples down because will not be balanced when placed on flat surfaces. Mine is not adjusted for damage or ear height difference but not sure why still not balanced on the table. Maybe too flexible? Will take a pic and post here later.

But lindberg i tried before the frames too flexible no grip on face slip right away dont know why.

Horn material different from plastic feel. Quite hard to bend and stay in shape and i think heat cant be applied due to risk of damage?

Same model but different Colour/shape is the beauty of the horn. Because you know that your frame is unique and no one will have same exact Colour/aged texture as yours even if they buy same model. Like an extension of your character.

when you go cold countries always rmb to go back to your shop to apply wax over your horn overnight or else if your horn has aged and you wear it to cold countries, high risk of it cracking.

Heating might not be recommended so much as the hinge area has some glue to stick the bushing of the temple, heating the sides too Long might cause the glue to slowly melt and causing the hinge to become loose.
