You are right about the coating. I just made another zeiss that I collected last week. For lens only, $600 for 1.67 digital blueprotect. When brand new it's damn good. Compared to my 2 year old zeiss pair which were the same exact specifications. I still stuck to zeiss because of their digital lens. Other brands have this feature? Something like a mild progressive. I find it beneficial.

Nice to know that you cleaned your lens from time to time. But take note, as much as you clean your lenses, you need to clean your clothe too. If debris gets stucked on the clothe and we just clean our lenses with it, it might cause scratches on our lens or even the multicoat! So just take note! Apart from not using soap directly on the lenses as if the siao is too strong, it will bite through your multicoat and also not leaving your glasses in the car!

I found a shop at JB City Square, selling a single colour for less than SG$300. A 2 time frame is SG$320.

I was offered the Hoya nulux lense for ard SG$270 (RM855). Does anyone has comment on this lense?

I change my lesne quite often, almost once a year, as it always get scratched. It cost me SG$120, and I think it's a Korea lense. Initially, I would use the lense cloth to clean the lense. But despite cleaning using the lense cloth, I still get scratches on the coating. The lense could be cheaper but my astigmatism for 1 eye is 250, hence costing an additional $10-$20.

I told the optician about my yearly change of lense, hence he recommended Hoya nulux lense to me.

Hope someone can give me some feedback.

Hi, it has high vision Long Life coating which is generally quite solid in my opinion. But scratch and all is very subjective and dependent on the user habits. If your frame is quite curve then maybe nulux is not a good idea and you should go for hilux instead. If not then nulux is fine. Your astig of 250 requires you to get a specialised lens as most normal lenses only goes to 200, sadly. Shouldn't be a problem what you are getting as I know places selling Stef preutz more costly. Just make sure the acetate face front has no scratches as that area of such frames are veryyyyyyy vulnerable to such damages.
Regarding cleaning of cloths,as we clean our lenses, the dirts might get stuck on our cloth and when we don't wash them, and we reclean the area again, we will be smearing the lens with them in future. Worst is if there are small debris on the cloth and we clean our lenses, inevitable to have scratches. Take note k? Hope these helps!!

thanks for sharing your knowledge on the lense.

I think you're referring to the mirror finish. I used to own 1, and that was a disaster. the coating came off just off after cleaning it with a lense cloth. luckily my optic shop was good enough to swapped for me by claiming manafucturer defect. no way I am getting that, it's either single or two tone frame.

Probably you be recommended with a high index lenses at least 1.6 index and blue control lenses to reduce glare from your Long computer hours! It will help however if your job requires Colour differenciation then maybe not cause of the yellowish hue.

went back change the lens once because i have to tilt my head up high to read computer distance wording (also re-adjust my power and 闪光）

Is it not all people are suitable to use progressive lens?

Have you tried the new remake lens already? How was it and was the dotting on the lens done again?

Regarding the suitability....true some ppl hard to adapt but for your age, percentage is still quite good to adapt. Worst case scenario i've seen is a seperate distance and reading/computer glasses. But that usually is not the recommended choice as customers will still complain must put on/off glasses.

And another thing is that for a normal reading glass, yes you can see computer and reading however one will be better than the other. One will be compromised to allow the other to be clear.
For progressive too, usually you be asked if you will prioritize your reading more or computer more. Then it will be adjusted accordingly. As our reading power will usually increase throughout the years, it will be hard to achieve the best of both worlds sadly.

This frame is a "yellow plus" frame. For the cost of the frame...I am not too sure if you really want to get it as I am only afraid it might not last as well as the real thing. But yes definately able to fit prescription lens on it.

If it breaks then at most order same model again or else gotta find another frame(same size or smaller) to salvage your lens.

Cheap frames many in the market! However finishing and quality(comfort) will be significantly felt when you try on both the frames imo.

Yes, I am now using the remake lens for two weeks and still feeling uncomfortable (They re-exam my eyes）. They said they have enlarge the computer reading area as most of the time I am using computer. One thing I notice that if I turn my head towards the left, the normal computer wording (font 11) becomes more darker and clearer as compared by just looking it infront.

If you shift your glasses slightly higher while looking at the screen, any differences?

2)While looking at the screen and without turning your head, close individual eyes and look at the fonts. Any difference in clarity?

3)While looking at screen, just shifting the glasses only, shift it a little to the left/right. Any difference in clarity?

If it's 2) then probably need some normal adjustment to the sitting alignment on your face.

If 3)got a probable chance that focal points could be wrong.

If none of above...go back to the shop and try let the staff help you!

Ans: Right Eye looks fine and wording are clear. Left Eye wise, the wording looks smaller and abit blur. it seems like when i read from left to right using my left eyes, the word that i read is like it moved abit infront while the one that i didnt read on right side is abit behind..so it looks like and effect that the alphabet is moving a little step infront like that..


3)While looking at screen, just shifting the glasses only, shift it a little to the left/right. Any difference in clarity?

Ans: Shifting the glasses to the right side looks better abit.

I believe this could be due to either inset value of the lens difference or focal point misalignment... what I can think of at this point of time assuming power and all is correct! Or check with your consultant if the frame is adjusted correctly to your face e.g one side might be closer to your face and other further resulting in Such errors.

For the very near wordings is it something you need to see for Long hours? Because if it's for short period of time, you can consider using the old one. You have already given the new one quite abit of time to try so I think when the shop open go check again with them...is it a significant increase in the reading power for you?
