You are right about the coating. I just made another zeiss that I collected last week. For lens only, $600 for 1.67 digital blueprotect. When brand new it's damn good. Compared to my 2 year old zeiss pair which were the same exact specifications. I still stuck to zeiss because of their digital lens. Other brands have this feature? Something like a mild progressive. I find it beneficial.
