Hey bro,

Is it confirmed astig 500 and myopia 250? just wanted to make sure first and not the other way round?

If astig 500, you probably have to RX your lenses which means customized so that it can hold the 500 astig.
Do you have any idea what brand of lens was quoted for you?

If you ask me, i would say Zeiss, Hoya or maybe shamir would be good for you! Currently if i'm not wrong, shamir is the only one that can do up til -9.00 degree of astig!

Yes confirm is astig 500 but not sure the brand of the lens but said only transitions lens.

Probably close to 350-400? Depending on what kind of frame you chose too.. but it's a ridiculously good price. Just make sure can see the zeiss engraving. Good buy man.

Yes I do see the zeiss engraving. With the the warranty card too. I remember I was quoted around SGD 270 just for the lens in Singapore 😰

What's the difference between the brands of lens? Say crizal vs hoya vs zeiss vs Kodak etc etc

It's like handphone brand, oppo vs huawei vs nokia

Zeiss is top end premium like Man City

Essilor is Chelsea

Hoya Pentax is Arsenal, budget budget kind

Local brand is sleague

Surprised to see not so many people hyping up Owndays liao..

Cos it sucks.. For someone that protects his specs, my multi coating wore off within just 3months (normally mine can last 1.5yrs)..

End up with a scratched and blurry vision.. Zzzz

Price not exactly cheap somemore..

Anyone knows where to make prescription lens for ray ban sunglasses? Specifically the same sunglass lens with the ray ban logo.
Also, any recomendation in jb to make crizal/Hoya/Zeiss lens for existing frame?
Thanks in advance!

Nice analogy! Btw Hoya has stellify(hvp coating) and their stock nulux and hilux(hvll too premium coating). The ranking from lowest is Pentax->stellify->hvll Hoya lens(best)

Not sure what index lenses you got. Sometimes it's being upsell to get a "higher index lens" when you don't even need. And since multicoating is poor, your lens will be worn off fast.
Glasses is really impt, if wanna save, save on the frame. Lenses are more impt. You can buy the ownday frame if you want then lens go to another place to do.

Only luxxotica can do the same ray ban logo lens for you. But no sure if rayban does it. You probably just look for special labs to do. E.g. ICRX lenses.

Ahh that means it won’t be the same shade of sunglass lens that it comes with right? Can I know more about the ICRX lenses you are talking about?

It's a Custom made lenses from Japan. Takes 2weeks-1month to be done usually. Takes into account the size of your frame/lens, mirror coat or not, multicoating(it does affect).
Colour wise it will never be the same but as similar as possible.

That sounds expensive :O Actually my degree is only about 200 so do you think it is worth making the prescription lens?

If you use it constantly then yes it be worth it not, I think you can do without it. Price range is maybe about 300-400? For lens itself, and the lens is plastic. Rayban aviators lenses are glass that's why it's heavier.

At 40+ I just got my first pair of glasses after noticing double vision at all distances. Went to a Spectacle Hut and got a prescription as follows:

R: -0.25 -1.25x90
L: -0.25 -0.75x100
pd 62
add +1.00

So the astig is the main problem, I think.

I've picked up my glasses and it's amazing how much clearer everything is. However, I still have slight double vision especially at shorter distances, e.g. PC screen laptop use, and handphone, so I guess reading distance out to about 1m.

I'd like to see a good, optometrist who will take the time to really make sure my prescription is correct.

Any recomendations in central/North? Anywhere along NS Line is OK, preferably from Bishan up to Woodlands sort of area.
