Recently just went to make a new pair of glasses since the old one de frame gg.

Been using zeiss for very long... so far quite solid in the sense that my prescription stays very much the same throughout many years. Cannot stress the importance of a gd lens slowing down eye deterioration.

Heavy PC, tablet and phone use due to work, hopefully eyes can tank more in the years to come haha.

In the meantime, old one remaking frame with similar zeiss lens as spare.

Hi, may I know how much the lens cost? I don't know whether the price got increased or not. My super old Zeiss lens cost me ard 500plus at Capitol optical. Long time nv make new lens for my glasses, I think is time to change

I think basic single 1.67 still abt that price.

They have a retail catalogue at optical shops, can go ask ask.

Tbh, a pair of progressive lenses plus frame with all those coatings which cost 198. I would say the lens is really basic, not that it’s bad but, as long as your eyes can tolerate “any” distortion, dizziness, then who knows, you might have save quite abit of money!

Hi, Is there a reason why you want to do a 1.67 index for -2? Even if you are using frameless, 1.60 index is more than enough, it’s too overkill to do a 1.67 for -2. And if I am not wrong(I have not checked the price list), the minimum power for 1.67 is -3.00.
For a 1.60 with blueprotect single vision I believe you are looking at a high 200+.(have to check the book price).

After changing around a few pairs of glasses the past few years, I think I like Zeiss' Duravision Platinum coating the most.

Any recommended Zeiss lens to make? I see that they're offering both smartlife and Single Vision series now.

No, even progressive lenses do not have 2 focal zones. Generally anti fatigue lenses have their power at the bottom gradually reduced to allow for better comfort when looking at distance and then at near. E.g. top portion is -2.00D, middle of the lens is -1.50 and the bottom is -1.25. Something along the line, it’s not 2 fixed focal zone like a bifocal.
The anti fatigue helps to reduce your eye strain by reducing the power slightly at the bottom.
But if you don’t have headaches or eye strain then you can stick with single vision.

I do feel the need to get Zeiss smartlife single vision unless it’s for progressive.(just my personal opinion).

I believe you mean photochromatic lenses right? If yes then, no you must top up to get their photofusion lenses.

You got most of it right. Honestly Zeiss has really superb distance just that their reading tends to fall short to Hoya and Essilor.
is there a particular reason why you would prefer having a polarised lenses? The add on cost could actually be used to maybe improve the tier of your lenses or even go for photochromatic options.

The main plus factor(in my opinion) for the smartlife integration would be The Eye tracking binocular tech(smth along the lines) can’t rmb fully.. so it be optimise to help you see clearer at all distances(single vision lenses). But I, using their normal lenses, not even superb, already have no complains.

Thanks for sharing. I am currently using Essilor Crizal Lenses. Based on your feedback, i sort of shortlisted these 2 Zeiss lenses. Guess i will good for the smartlife lenses then. Thanks!!

so far so good, no floating vision.
