For people with presbyopia above +2.00Ds, an office lenses is always recommended, coupled with a distance SV or distance-focused progressive lens.

boss, isnt it better to take office lenses coupled with distance SV instead of distance-focused progressive lens? the way it sounds, distance-focused progressive lens seems redundant if we make 2 pairs with office lens already catering to near vision? wearing distance SV will it make our laohua worsen if lets say we "accidentally' use it to read near distance like mobile phone / digital screen etc?

😅 maybe they are not well versed in fitting office lenses? Progressive lenses also cost much more than office lenses. most expensive office lenses ~$600 max

thanks boss, will drop by your amk shop once my blurred vision issues more or less resolved to let you fit my 29mm frame with office lenses since you guaranteed $600 max. $600 is even cheaper than my current SV lens so i guess your price is for unbranded lens. im fine as long its jap brand as i gravitate more towards jap lens due to their far superior coating.

determination of Distance SV vs distance-focused progressive lens is very individual. We have to see what's the lifestyle like, your visual habit & daily activities to determine the best for a client. E.g. in your case where you need to see mobile/near screens after office, distance-focused progressive lens more suitable

Hi Bro,

If you're not too bothered with brands, look out for The better material instead.
Can consider these materials
Metal - Made in Japan/ Germany Titanium frames
Plastic - PEI injection / Made in Korea TR90/Ultem frames

with your prescription, most shops in SG should fit under your budget (y)

Pretty good system, would be able to capture most of the data that any experienced progressive lens fitter capture. However certain "more personalized" points still require a physical observation though (y)

Since you've been with Owndays for a long time & they are notoriously known for making their in-house lenses with very Flat front curve & too thin center thickness, would be good if the shops you patronize have a lens sample in your prescription for you to try on. Otherwise it could be an issue as major brands follow the golden standards for lenses curve & center thickness.

If the curve is fine, what's left is the material type to consider
Photochromic:
Turns dark under the sun (E.g. Transitions). Good to have if you your eyes are sensitive to bright light

Blue absorb:
Absorbs up to 94% of harmful HEV (Blue light up to 420nm)

Blue reflect:
Reflect 20-30% of blue light (400-550nm range), which also includes the beneficial light to regulate circadian rhythm. A small number of clients report feeling sleepier during the day when using the lenses. 🤣
