Hi, I’ve been experiencing double vision when using my multi focal contact lenses. Sometimes it’s rather clear but most time blurry. Any idea what could be the issue? I’m using clariti 1 day multifocal. Initially it was quite comfortable and clear but somehow it wasn’t so after some time. Thought of going for a thorough check to understand what’s wrong.
Ok. More of can’t focus. Sometimes blink a few times it would turn clearer. This happens throughout the period of wear. No issues when wearing specs.Hi! double vision as in seeing double or can't focus?
Does the problem still persist with spectacles?
Is it a whole day thing or appear only at night?

Ic. Noted, Thks for the advice. With that, we can safely say this issue is probably due the contact lenses (Unless your myopia is above -8.00Ds). I'ld suggest going back to your optical shop @ have an over-refraction done (With contact lenses on) to enhance your ability to focus properly.![]()
Thanks, i have been seeing discussion on the brand of lenses too. is there any go to/recommended brands or "ranking" in terms of quality? Will there be a big difference if compared to say Ownday's lenses?Since you've been with Owndays for a long time & they are notoriously known for making their in-house lenses with very Flat front curve & too thin center thickness, would be good if the shops you patronize have a lens sample in your prescription for you to try on. Otherwise it could be an issue as major brands follow the golden standards for lenses curve & center thickness.
If the curve is fine, what's left is the material type to consider
Photochromic:
Turns dark under the sun (E.g. Transitions). Good to have if you your eyes are sensitive to bright light
Blue absorb:
Absorbs up to 94% of harmful HEV (Blue light up to 420nm)
Blue reflect:
Reflect 20-30% of blue light (400-550nm range), which also includes the beneficial light to regulate circadian rhythm. A small number of clients report feeling sleepier during the day when using the lenses.![]()

Quick shoutout for @Optometrist !
Been having Eye strain + night double vision for 3-4 years. Condition got worse after ** + WFH. Always thought its normal, cos my previous opticians and eye doctors said so, attributing my condition to heavy workload without giving me a proper solution on how to solve this.
Visited bro @Optometrist , got my eyes checked. My condition is indeed due to heavy near workload. The biggest difference is he managed to let me see clear & single, no more double vision. Was pretty skeptical at 1st, but he gave me a money back guarantee.
Collected spects 2 weeks later & been trying for 5 days now. Finally no more headache & double vision. Only regret is not going to him earlier.

Sounds good! Your laohua/presbyopia add doesn’t contribute to the thickness.. usually is due to frame size, or increased in your distance prescription.@GANGSTERKIA boss, just collected my first hoya mystyle profile lens, wearing for 2 weeks liao. Dont even have the slightest adaptation issues / rumoured blurry peripheral vision which people always mentioned. not sure why. first time progressive wearer and it looks the same as single vision. side vision just as good as single vision lens. makes me wonder and doubt if i should still go for office lenses. the only difference seems that my lens are thicker maybe due to the laohua add?
