Yeap definately. It's not a must to have the blue coating as my colleague himself don't like having it. He doesn't like the Colour saturation, it does not harm her eye not to have it. Just like other users in this forum that feels that it's just placebo but to me, I like that warm effect it gives me(yellowish).

Yes thanks for the recommendations. I get dizzy with progressives. So only can consider single vision.

Lucky i asked u about blue light protection because i was thinking of getting one with blue light protection. Everything a bit yellowish then can not see colour accurately. At first thinking it is a bit blue. Thanks.

The blue is actually the reflected light. You won't see the blue through the lens. Only when you see other ppl lenses then you can see the blue/purple. Shamir and another lens company called Kwang Meng has a "special technology" to reduce the blue reflection and and lesser yellow effect.

Hmm thanks a lot bro gonna make my decision more difficult, I want to cut blue light for less eye strain but still want very accurate colors hmmm.

Cannot decide whether to do Pentax progressive lens or try Nikon office lens. Any advise?

Pentax now got promotion and no need to carry 2 spec.
Nikon office lens, they say clearer for reading/using pc. And for distance up to 3 meters.

How's the blue control for both brand. Don't like to see yellowish A4 paper.

If you don't like bluish, either opt out of it or choose Shamir. If you need office lens, Shamir has their own version with blue glacier(blue filter) minimal yellowing..

Hi all. Just to check... Isit true that nowadays optical shop do not give u the full strength degree? Cos heard from the optical shop I jus went, the practice now is to prescribe a degree good enough for near work (for computer use etc) but it won't be as perfect for far vision. The person said that prescribing lower degree for near reading is more comfortable on the eyes. And if he gave me perfect clear 6/6 vision for far objects , my eyes may be tired when looking at near objects?

Is this the truth or isit like a marketing gimmick where they give u blur vision so u can come back more often? Nowadays optical shop don't test the eyes to perfect vision unlike the past. Experienced this in Owndays, new China optics and the current one

U should go back to a trusted optician and insist you want full power 6/6 vision prescription. For me i want max power so i see the clearest. I dont like compromise for comfort near vision. If tired just rest my eyes. If gimmicks shop staff can always increase your power each time u go.

Nope that is not the practice at all. By doing that, you are compromising on your distance vision, and if you are driving, that is dangerous. Perfect clear 6/6 does not necessarily gives you tired eye. *Overcorrection* gives you tired eye, meaning after 6/6, they try to correct you further.
It is the shop ethics concern that for whatever reason does that. It is not a common practice.
6/6 is still a baseline we try to achieve, but sometimes, patients with ocular conditions like cataract, lazy eye or so, wont not be able to hit 6/6 thus some refractionist might tend to overcorrect if the condition is not spotted.

My old optician shop close down. So have randomly tried shops hoping they are good but so far all don't live up to standard.

Yea quite sad. Probably u right. Nowadays really not many live up to the past standards.

Luckily for me, after trying so many shops for the past 10+ years or longer i managed to find my current optician which i can stick with for recent couple of years.
