Thanks again, bro.
Does anyone know which shop carries the Lindberg MoF range?
Jamco at Katong might have.. But you prefer that series out of the others so far?
one is more customised than the other which takes into consideration your lifestyle factors.
if you prefer sharper optics and a more personalised pair of lenses, it would be good.
worth it or not , its up to you to decide![]()
Many years ago, I had the Varilux 360 lenses. It suited me well except for the price which was high, because I needed to replace my spectacles almost every year because of change in long and short sight vision. The lens itself I think cost me about S$500-S$600.
So I switched to the cheaper progressive lens which cost < $200. Till today, I still like the Varilux 360 lens very much because of its wider view comfort with less side way distortion compared to the cheaper progressive lens. This is good for reading and computer work. Now that my long/short sighted vision has stabilised for the last 3 years or so, I would like to go back to the Varilux 360 or its equivalent. I understand today there are other brands, one is such is from Hoya.
I do not need to have the best or latest, just something equivalent or better than Varilux 360. My focus is on the wider side vision. Therefore branding does not matter as long as the lenses can last for at least 3 years. I understand from one of the vendor that some lens warp after 2 years. This is the first time I hear of that.
Can anyone recommend something suitable and cost effective? My current power is about 200-300 (for short sight) on each side. A 1.5 index lens I think should be fine. Can give estimate the top up separately if need transition and blue light filter? I read somewhere that transition lens filters blue light as well. So getting a transition lens also serve as blue light filter. Is that true?
Thanks.
Ok thanks.
Think will give the individual a try, anything to take note of? Or the optometrist will handle everything properly even for the personalised data part?
Am looking to purchase specs with PC lens. I have quite a wide face, so would need frames that are around 140mm+ across. Any suggestions on which shops have a wide variety of such specs? Preferably around $150 as thats what I can claim from my company. My vision is not that bad so don't really need degree.
Shops like Owndays have quite narrow frames so they don't really fit me well.
Hi, some shop given free blue contol coating for lenses. I have my own pair of blue light control spectacle but the thing is, i wear it i see yellowish color. Is it really good for eyes as i see the natural color when taking it down.

Hi,
For Varilux 360, there are afew variations in the past e.g. 360 azio(more for asians), 360 (physio), 360 comfort. Thus the practitioner have to see the lens engraving before deciding.
To be on a safer side, based on your power, If you would like the better lens, a pair would cost you about 540 for the physio 3.0 1.5 index now, but if you prefer a cost effective pair then go for the comfot 3.0 at 440. Transitions will be an added 250 more and if you would like blue filter then it will be an additional 100 on top of it. Discounts should be given too. Prices are based on RRP.
And no, transition does not have blue filter just that certain transition lens brands, the lenses tends to be slightly yellow but that is because of the transition coat and nothing to do with blue filter.
Let us know if you have further qns and we will try to help you answer your queries!
Yep, the optometrist or optician will take care of the rest. Just have to let them know your lifestyle needs which they will ask.
Thanks!
There’s the eye test and measurements, but did not get asked about any lifestyle needs or so though.
