Today I went to another optical shop and recheck my eye.
Realized my old lens (8 days old) is overpower by 75 degrees for astig and axis off..

My sph is -600 and cyl -200.. is 1.67 index sufficient?
Cuz I wan blue protect and transition, not available in 1.74..

And has anyone tried Zeus’s single vision superb/superb Asiana or Zeiss vision performance lenses? Any idea usually how many percent discount off the rrp?

Yes 1.67 is sufficient!
I'm comfortable with my own single vision Duravision platinum lenses however if you want more emphasis on clarity and sharpness then you can consider their SV superb Asiana.

Different shops give different Discount thus.. have to ask around.

Typically at what degree does switching from 1.67 to 1.74 start making sense? Difference in thickness-wise

Gangsterkia.. is Zeiss EnergizeMe and digital lens suitable for early 30s? I’m wondering how does that compare to their single vision.. also I notice their single vision has superb and superb Asiana. Is there a difference between the two?

Imo, above 5.00D you can consider already. Difference in thickness-wise really depends on the frame size that you are choosing. The Wider the frame, the thicker the lens will be.
Generally i will lookout at the frame size and give them a choice of 1.67/1.74 and then let them decide unless really no choice i will tell them they only have a 1.74 as an option(wide frames).

For early 30s i will recommend EnergizeME. The difference between those lenses and normal single vision is that those lenses are considered ANTI-FATIGUE whereby the lower area of the lenses has the power reduced by -0.40 minimally so as to allow you to relax your eye muscles when you do near work e.g. computer, reading and all.

Zeiss lens tier goes by norma, Super asiana, Superb and then Individual(best)

(edit) there is a difference between them, which is the clarity and aberration(to the sharp eye) as for me, i dont feel the difference. Probably as i have a high tolerance for such instances.

Anti fatigue!?! I need it! But does it comes with both blue protect and photofusion? Cause I saw the chart and it seems either one only..

For Digital lens and energizeme, both comes with blueprotect. Transition/photofusion is an add-on for you to decide!(Cost)

Hi gangsterkia, are those branded lens like carl zeiss/hoya etc worth the extra $ over a normal lens? I’m not getting transition lenses. Mainly for daily use, long hours on computer. Not much astigue, degree about 600 on 1 side, 200 on the other

My personal take on this is, it is very subjective in the terms of clarity.
Because every individual has a different level of tolerance for such matters.
Thus of course certain lenses does feel more comfortable as the coating of the lenses affects the amount of aberration produced/caused which affects how clear you see. So if you feel that you want comfort and dont mind paying for something which does help and gives you the satisfaction then you can pay more for a better lens.

Probably you can invest on a average to an above average lens tier will do. Zeiss do have basic tier lenses which are competitive with other brands too. Hoya, essilor, zeiss, nikon, shamir, tokai or asahi all have their more economical lenses.

Hope this helps and feel free to share your opinions too!

You can get an Army style frame, more rugged and can take a beating then for your lenses just a 1.6 index lens should fulfil your requirements(might even be less than 200) :)

any recommendation for shops to go?

what kind and area you looking for?
basically any shop also offers same stuff, but familiarity of staff/brand/price also plays a part.

Thoughts on Oliver People frames?

Is there such a big difference between normal lenses vs the branded ones?

Very subjective question.
personally, i find there is a difference in quality of the coating. Optics wise, for me i will feel the difference between a branded option and a less branded one.
To each his own. Some people don't find a difference. Try it once for yourself and see :)
