Photochromic is the term for colour changing lenses.
Transition is one of the brands of photochromic lenses.

Many brands sells photochromic lenses.

But if you need photochromic + HEV(Blue) light filter, can choose kodak/asahi:)

Raybans nose pad turning green. Does my optical shop have original stock or do I have to go to service centre to get them replaced?

Bro,

mind taking a close up picture of behind the nosepad?

We might have stock of these nosepads

Best to go back your current shop to request. Certain places will charge if it’s the ray ban nosepad(clip-on) Rather than the usual screw kind.

Zeiss is probably the most expensive out of all but you get good coating on top of the transition/photochromatic effect.

this is a long shot but anyone know if here local got sell this or similar ?
only manage to find it in rosemanclub in thailand
can buy online but still wanna see can get local or not
frame only... need to do the lens here

i saw this online as well..
thing about getting this online is that for servicing if needed, no one in sg can do it for you. that is the drawback,
it is their housebrand so only can get it there

I've come up with some drawings to let more bros better understand what is UV/ Blue Reflect/ Blue Absorb

Light Spectrum (Left side of chart being most harmful to humans):

Blue Reflect lenses block up to 30% across whole blue spectrum (~400-500nm)

Blue Absorb lenses block up to 94% of the high energy waves(up to 420nm), while letting the rest of beneficial blue light in.(~420-500nm)

disclaimer: straight lines are drawn to make it easier for me to draw :X Actual lines are not as straight as what is illustrated:s13:

Is there a way to know if a brand is indeed using transition len, like an authentication card or something? I made mine from xxxxx and it sucks...the color merely changes to light grey as compared to my other authentic lens which turns dark very quickly. Am i being conned already?

Im pretty unhappy with that brand because it was marketed as transition to me and the sales people didnt even correct me that its photochromic.

For Strong HEV filter, always choose Tokai, Asahi or Kodak :s13:

Never heard of first two lol. But am surprised with kodak quality. I sent one frame for crizal prevencia see how is it. Am thinking of getting another for home use.

Is zeiss photofusion good for outdoor?

Made a pair of spectacles in Tokyo. They used stock lenses which was why I could collect it almost immediately. Also mentioned they use Nikon Essilor lenses. Any indication these are Nikon Essilor as I don't see any branding at all? Dosen't help that the back is in Japanese I know...

Seems like filter lens is better, is there a reason why the big brands use blue coating instead?
