Did you use glue or smth? Usually the rim nosepads is using a lock and pin system and such that if you take it apart once, and put back it will not be as “tight” anymore.

I used a new nose pad
Not going to use glue and screw up the wire
The old one should be from factory so not so easy to remove

Hi there. There is a 1.8 and a 1.9 index for glass lenses. Do take note glass lenses are heavier than the normal plastics. Though they are more scratch resistant.
What the shops mentioned to you are all right. Zeiss and essilor have glasses lenses.

For zeiss, they have 4 different indexes, And their prices are listed beside(RRP)
1.6 295
1.7 375
1.8 600
1.9 725

Essilor
1.70 150 If the supplier has no local stock it will cost 260
1.80 290 If the supplier has no local stock it will cost 410.

These prices are purely for single vision lenses. If you need for progressive, let me know again.

I also have high myopia (900+), astigmatism (300+), what are the different type of glass lenses available in the market for this degree (index 1.74 above)?

Also when a shop say local manufacturer - is there only one manufacturer? How is the quality like compared to international brands?

I went one shop told me the market only has glass lens from the manufacturer "hoying" (not sure spelling). But another shop recommended zeiss, essilor, and local manufacturer. They say the japanese brand (i presume Hoya) does not manufacture for my degree.

Don't mind if you can confirm what the shops have told me and approximate price range for Zeiss?

Physio 1.6 with transition cost 1020
X series 1.6 with transition cost 1210.

I understand that to pay 1000 plus for a lens might sounds too overkill but if it’s comfort you prefer, you might want to consider investing on a better lens too!

I understand that to pay 1000 plus for a lens might sounds too overkill but if it’s comfort you prefer, you might want to consider investing on a better lens too!

i used to make my spec in malaysia, but now covid-19 can’t go in, like to seek some advice n inform about making spec in singapore. any shop to recommend in west side?

i’m currently wearing a new balance nb09022 for almost 3 years, i had both side sph -8.00 and cyl -0.50, but recently i broken the e lock of frame and was looking to make a new spec(new lens n frame).

i sweat a lot n run a lot, and usually under the sun, can recommend any frame that can least long without corrosion?
and like what is lens most shop selling or recommend?my current one is zeiss.

and lastly what is the price like? thinking of investing in a good one so don’t mind if a bit more exp, but can last.

i made previously at Owndays ... please recommend an alternative with similar or cheaper pricing. I really dont want to go owndays again lol.

(Service personnel is day dreaming plus the blue lens wore out in just two months.)

Looking forward to making a new pair of glasses and hoping to have more choices in term of full titanium frame...

Looked at ic berlin but base is stainless steel only. Their titanium not cheap also so skipped it

Currently using a pair of glasses from [dun], lasted decently for 6 years.
I wash my glasses around weekly & I do not dry the rim area (I only dry the legs) after washing. So I’m glad my existing pair lasted as Long as they did. Paid around $400 for the frame a Long time ago.

If Lindberg is much more expensive seems like I’ll stick with [dun] next time.

Starting to consider a new pair because the coating on my lenses gg already...

Dun is around 300-400. Lindberg is x2 of the price.

But Lindberg is much more comfortable. Won’t oxidise, lifetime replacement of nosepad and temple tips.
I would go for Lindberg anytime any day hahaha..go get your first pair.. probably won’t regret, and if you prefer light and comfortable, check out their NOW or rim series. Can check from their website.

I saw some of their glasses. Z-titanium and B-titanium, what's the differences?

I notice charmant cheaper than oakley

but oakley have rubber on the sides which i don't like

Charmant and Seiko are good. Price range 160 onwards!

Light, titanium and looks good too. But for charmant maybe look towards the blue label series.

Can i ask the bros out here which are the shops in sg which are offering zeiss and essilor lenses cheaper than the competitor our there? They’re the best lenses based on my research. Think i’m looking into the Crizal Prevencia and Zeiss duravision blue protect. If you guys have better alternative can recommend me too.

I have myopia and astigmatism.
Myopia = -300 & -450 (stopped increasing for years)
Astigmatism = -100 & -125 (keep increasing over the years)


I have experience with crizal lens and i find it not bad with the features. Bought it at msia and unable to visit due to covid.

My last pair of specs are with owndays and i don’t think their lens are good.

I need a pair of spec with lenses with great anti blue light as i’m looking at pc alot.

Give lindberg a try
No press mark on nose, i wash daily for past 6mths no issue.
I'm wearing the air titanium rim, temple is very thin so it will minimize any irritation from hair or skin problem. I don't think you can totally avoid this on thicker frames.

Only complain i have is i can't wear the spectacle on one hand
