Try to book an appointment to see Bryan.
They have almost the widest collection of frames in spore. So there are many to choose from.

Hi, will optical shops do eye sight checks if I didn't buy my spectacles from them?

Recently eyesight getting a little blur, not sure if fatigue or me staring at the screen for long hours due to WFH.

Usually make my pair at KS but not convenient for me to go down as I live quite far.

Yes. But there will be a consultation charge from $15 onwards. Different shop charges different prices for consultation.

Is there a Lindberg service center here? The black plastic hinge that connects the temple piece to the front of the frame broke. Normal specs usually just replace the screw but Lindberg ones is the screwless type.

My specs is bought overseas so I don't know if any spectacle shop here will help.

Ohhh man. I believe shops might help. Perhaps you can insta DM Jamco, but likely you have to pay for freight charges to and fro. Servicing charge which total might amount to 200ish maybe or slightly more.

Or you can call eyewear optics Thomson to see if it’s possible to help.

Thanks. If the small black spacer cost $200, I don't think anyone should be buying Lindberg anymore.

Well, you bought it overseas right..?
And you mentioned it broke too right..

Maybe can you show me a picture of it?(This would help greatly if I can see which is the part that is affected.

If you buy it overseas, shops like us who service it for you can’t bear the cost of servicing IF it’s needed to be serviced overseas.(eg temple breaking off, frame front damage). Freight cost are all in euros. Can’t expect it to be so cheap right? Again that is the issue of buying frames overseas, or in msia.

Rather unfortunate that you have such experience too as this doesn’t happen too often.(breakage or the black bushing part dropping out. HOWEVER, if it’s the black bushing that drops out(I hope), then probably just a small fee(not more than $20-30)will be charged to replace it)

P.s we will try our best to help in any way we can(shops in spore). But do understand the cost involve if we were to try to help. The 200 is a ballpark figure as I can’t determine which is the area that is affected. So try to post a picture here for me. Apologies for the brackets in brackets. Cheers!

Thanks. If the small black spacer cost $200, I don't think anyone should be buying Lindberg anymore.

I would like to ask about Zeiss i.Scription technology and does that help for my case. I have mild myopia on one eye (~100 degrees myopia and ~50 degrees astigmatism) and the other eye seems to be good vision. I plan to do single vision lens.

Does doing i.Scription makes sense for my case? Zeiss website mentioned that i.Scription can be corrected down to 1 degree accuracy compared to standard 25 degrees correction steps. Since a few degrees off in prescription for mild myopia actually would mean higher percentage of error.

They say it is better for night vision (which I would really hope for), but i am not sure when compared to without i.Scription.

Your prescription is really Low. I personally feel that it’s not necessary To do an inscription lenses. Though if you prefer a “slightly” more “customised”
lens then you can consider hoya Nulux v+ Or zeiss smartlife individual single vision. But again, with such prescription normal single Vision is fine..if you prefer better night vision then just get lenses with blue reflect/yellowish hue, it will help too. E.g. zeiss blue protect single vision lenses, essilor prevencia, hoya blue control.

Thank you for the insights! Following up on Zeiss smartlife, I have read about smartlife single vision but cannot find much details on Zeiss website. What is the difference between standard Zeiss single vision AS lens vs smartlife Zeiss single vision? The smartlife single vision portfolio is supposed to which current single vision product (AS, Superb or Individual)?

For now, I prefer not to have tint as I do colour critical work. So i.Scription came to my mind with the advantage of night vision without the tint from drivesafe or blueprotect.

Inorder to do i.Scription, would I need start with a customised lens? That means I need to pay for the price of customised lens (Superb or Individual) and on top of that add the i.Scription? Hence, I cannot opt for normal Zeiss single vision AS lens add i.Scription?

Smartlife lenses takes into account your eye tracking/movement, the centration , frame details like frame tilt, wrap angle of the frame. It comes in all 3 too.

Not all shops in Singapore can do iscription as a special measurement machine is needed.(iprofiler) thus if you want iscription then Have to find the shops that have the machine.

Adding on, smartlife is not exactly necessary too. Just the basic individual or superb single vision might be more than enough.

Feeling a little sad today, because suddenly my eyelids turn red so I went to see doctor. It's dry eyes + high pressure eye.

I thought that the glasses has blue light reduction but when I visited a nearby neighborhood optician, she says that my lenses don't see to have blue light protection.

Honestly normal person like me didn't really pay attention but i feel that it's time to learn :s11:

so after the clinic, checked out Owndays (as they're every where ... and popular). They have this thing called iRelax lens which is Anti-fatigue. But is it true? as i find some people reported fatigue / headache here before.

I read a post that says Crizal lens is really good, but perhaps it's above premium price.

How do Crizal, Hoya, Zeiss and other lenses differ?

How's your experience with getting specs from Paris Miki and everyone's favourite Jamco here :) ?

I am considering Paris Miki because they have service to monitor the eye pressure which I'm advised to, but not sure if I can patronise their shop every month for the test haha ...

my degree is around 550 with astigmatism >2

Hi, a few qns to check

Which doctor did you go to and where?

Blue light only causes digital eye strain, not cataract , glaucoma or Macula degeneration.

What is yours age right now?
Or age range.

Crizal, zeiss and essilor have their own entry level lenses. Every brand no matter how basic also have their premium level, even owndays have too.

How do they monitor your IOP?
Just using NCT( non contact tonometry air puff test? Any Humphrey visual field test? I-care tonometer? Or anterior segment check to check your anterior chamber angle?). What are their rates? (I am only asking to see if there’s any cheaper alternative out there).
