Hi all, planning to get a new spec with a budget around 500 max, probably getting zeiss 1.67 single vision lens which is same as previous glasses, any recommendations what are some brand that is good and fit my budget? Previously only wear normal black plastic glasses cause working in saf, so don't have a choice

This is a 1.60 index price. On top is normal below is with blue protect. 1.67 is more expensive. However if you are reallllly getting 1.67 index at this price(240).do recommend the shop to other forumners. It’s really cheap. Otherwise I believe it could be a miscommunication.

I was quoted 240 for multi coat and blue protect at a neighbourhood optical shop

The lenses will set you back about 300-320. Thus effectively a 200 budget for the frame. I would recommend ironic iconic, acoustic line, eyes cloud for frames that are durable but look aesthetically appealing at the same time.

Hi! I’m new to this thread. I thought Zeiss len prices are fixed? I was told by Captiol Optical only frames get discount.

In terms of marketing, there are many strategies.
Fixed lens price and give more discount of frame, or vice-versa.

Edit:some might give discount of both frame and lenses.

Hi Gangsterkia,

Toying this idea, if I have a pair of Ray-ban Aviator 3026 series, I would like to convert it to a shade with a power of 500+ for both eyes; using Essicolor and 1.67 lenses, what would be the estimate cost? Thanks.

Not to my knowledge at west side.. my workplace only has eyescloud at the moment.

If you want to see a wider range, you can drop by Thomson Plaza, eyewear optics. They have a wide variety of frames around 180-200 or if you can push further even 300ish.

I can pm you on who to look for too.

Honestly not recommended. High chance your lenses will break. If you ok with the risk then we don’t mind doing for you. If it’s a new piece of lens it will still be safer.

The most experience person will tell you the same thing too.
