Hi Gangsterkia,

My budget for progressive lens of 1.6 is abt $800. Would u recommend Hoya, Shamir or other brands? I have so far used 2 sets of Hoya progressive for the past 7-8 years.

Also, do u know which optical shop carries Loewe frames?

But now no budget. Tolerate for the moment. Got to save for probably another 2 years bah then one shot hoot hoya lifestyle balansis. By then maybe see which progressive best bang for buck. Is seiko lens tiered above hoya?

Wrong Prescription

Hi,
I went for a pair of transition gen 8 prescription spectacle recently and found uncomfortable with it even after tried for a month, I have not problem looking far but totally unable to read message from my phone or looking at computer from about 60cm away, felt giddy after trying to focus for some time. Tried covering my right eye, can see, covering my left eye cannot see. Although I have a liitle presbyopia but I have no problem reading with my old spectacle. Tried to contact the shop via facebook messager explaining my problem and seek their advise but they never contact me after replied to ask for my contact number to contact me, I found out they have blocked me in facebook messager few days after. Therefore I have my eye checked at nearby optical shop again. Found my right eye power is over prescripted by -0.75. If I went back to the same shop to redo only right len, what price will they charge? I already spend $360 for this spectacle, felt wasted if cannot using it. Any advise for me?

Do you remember which progressives you were using before?

E.g. Hoya dynamic premium, Hoya summit, Hoya FD? The card usually states it.

Oof quite shag to encounter issues like this.
By right the shop should and rightfully replace the lenses for you FOC.
Hopefully after they rectify it, it will be comfortable with you again.
Do you have any idea what lenses are you using currently?
Can I ask if you are around 35-40?

My old spectacle use essilor crizal transition lens. The new spectacle is transition gen 8, I have no ideal what brand the lens is and the index. I am 42. Near by optical shop check is -6.25, +1.00 but the spectacle i made is -700 single.

I see. You have presbyopia, thus your intermediate up to 60cm is not clear. You should be using digital/antifatigue minimally to be able to see far/intermediate and near at the same time. Or else go to progressives. The power given to you is likely only to correct your distance vision which. But funny enough why your left eye Is alright and right not.

They might be doing a mono vision for you whereby right eye views far and left eye near. Though not everyone is comfortable with that.(benefit of the optical shop).

I don’t think yours is like that. And I just thought of it too.. eyezen is not mono..
When you do eyezen, it’s already to help you to see near better. If someone do mono with eyezen... I don’t want comment much.

Prices depends on what tier of lens you choose, single vision , progressives, antifatigue, add-on like blue control or sensity(photochromatic lenses), index of the lenses. From 100+ to 1000+.
