Hello, have always been using cheap-ish frames and lenses my whole life and would like to get something nicer now. Currently in my mid 20s with about 500 degrees for both eyes with astig around 150-200, so I am wondering if progressive lenses are necessary for me?

I have done some reading on the previous pages and can see that Hoya and Zeiss lenses are generally recommended. Would it be cheaper to make a pair in JB or would prices be similar? Also dont mind doing it locally, wondering if there are any recommended shops in the North East(Hougang/Sengkang/Punggol area) or in the East around Tampines?

Nope, progressive lenses are generally for individuals with laohua(presbyopia). Unless you are using eye drops like atropine or you have weaker eye muscle or else not needed.
Jb is now priced similarly to spore, it is cheaper still but they increased from what to heard unless you go deeper into msia.

If MyStyle V+ 1.74 at this price is very good. Maybe you should try ID Myself.

Hi Gangsterkia, I made my lenses not too long ago but would like to opt for Hoya Sync III. I understand that there is a free upgrade to Sync III pro. I would also want the blue control.

My current reading is as follows:
R - 325 -125
L - 450 -100

Can I know what is the current price and any discounts offered by shops just to make the lenses without purchasing the frame?

I don't mind going to places around Bishan or AMK. Can PM me if not comfortable to reveal here.

1.6 index sync 3 pro(free upgrade) 390 w/full control(blue light filter) 70, total damage will be 460 before discount.

Or +1.00 presbyopia?
If first time and it’s already +2.50, were you wearing reading glasses prior? Or taking off your glasses to try and focus?

After discount price still very good. Seldom sg optical shops will give much discounts on lenses. So far i know most about 5-10%? Rarely seen 30% off. But judging by an optician's reply above, looks like normal RRP not so cheap. Means u goiten a rare deal bro.

Yes, you would need a pair of progressive specs/multi focal specs. Which allows you to view distance, near and intermediate at the same time.
Yes wearing a reading glass(purely magnification) will cause you to be dizzy or even fall if you walk with it.

1.5,1.53(trivex),1.55,1.59(polycarbonate),
1.60(high index), 1.67, 1.74(ultra high index).
Supreme is considered a tier of the lenses.

Essilor x design(highest range)

hoya dynamic premium(mid)
