thinking of going to taipei for trip and make progressive lens there,

wonder if anyone have experience how long it takes ?

usually in singapore takes about a month, a friend mentioned he heard from his friend ,they can make one in 5 to 7 working days,

any one have any shop worth recommending in Taipei ?

Those who are using Oakley glasses, I just found out that the service center at millenia tower had closed down. There is no free replacement of nose pad or side rubber anymore. Eg. 1 single side original nose pad now costs $25 lol

Looks like I'll jump ship on my next pair, any recommendations mainly on its comfort and quality nose pad that doesn't slip on my oily nose

looking for frames with adjustable nose bridge and the coating doesnt peel off so fast over time.

my nose bridge is naturally oily and i tend to find that frames with rubber pads can disintegrate easily

Learn to source for nose pad replacement and change yourself. It's very easy and barely few dolllars

I saw SG now have custom bespoke glasses.. can choose your material, color, frame shape and engrave name. Those collectors that like one of a kind specs will love it

1)Essilor crizal sapphire hr
2)Kodak lens

Ai says essilor crizal more premium? Although price is lower than kodak... Staff there recommend kodak better... (so I also not sure since ai can be wrong from time to time also)

my current pair is a crizal and have been using for about 4 years. Didn't detect any peeling (or totally peeled i also don't know.. but unlikely since the blue light filter still visible)

I only ever tried hoya before but don't really know which model i took previously.. just know it wasn't cheap but the glasses were good

yeah i got one from woptics during the covid period. my hoya , owndays and even unknown china brands never peeled after so many years.

I've seen people recommend a few shops on Taobao but the safer bet is to only order frames and get lenses done locally. Too risky to get prescription lenses from Taobao, tolerances might be off.

You can check out Jamco—they have a wide variety of frames and now have two outlets. You can also visit Paris Miki and other optical shops By the way, which series or collection are you interested in? For M'sia, need to go the expensive shopping center but lacks variety. I don't notice any optical shops in CS or KSL carry this brand.
